~Chapter Ten~
It must have been an hour or so since I have left the house. I was still riding White Beauty. I saw lights in the distance. I instantly told her to slow down. I was not going to seem suspicious. I found myself in a village. It was crowded with people yelling, running, and constant assaults. This was complete chaos. I kept walking White Beauty until I was stopped by a man in black, he was riding a long legged awkward looking horse. "Who are you and what are you doing?"
I kept my head at an angle so he wouldn't get a clear look at my face.
"I am a person and just passing through, I will be gone in an hour, judging on the people blocking my way." I tried to sound important, and a person to listen to. Instead it sounded demanding and bossy.
The man studied me. "What's your name girl?"
I knew I couldn't use my real name, so I had to think of a name. Fast. I sighed to buy time and saw a building labeled "Elegant Works" next to that building was "Waggery Ivy." I then said. "My name is Ivy Works,"
The man squinted. "Very well... You may pass."
I nod and begin walking White Beauty again. I sighed. I watched people get pushed, or push themselves to get deals on outfits, food, anything with a price. Their was grand women in large skirts who walked around with a package or two in hand. They then would get into wagons, some wagons were so big two or three horses had to pull them! I was shocked. I kept going though.
I noticed people of all shapes, sizes and ages came to the village or lived in the village. However, I saw no houses. That rose confusion. As the further I went, the less people were around. And slightly houses began to appear. First the little, shaggy rough looking ones. Then the bigger, nicer looking ones. As continued, then the big ones. The ones a king's representative would have. It was pleasing to know that not everybody in this village was ground dwellers, if you get what I mean. Anyways, the fact that the overwhelming air, the stench of desperation and the figures of the people were grand and poor. The variety was huge.
I soon grew into people watching. As I walked White Beauty I found myself looking at other people and how they were dressed, looked, and sounded. It was interesting. The different types of people. All heights, ages and skin colors. This place was far much more interesting than home, that I was for sure about.

It had to have been an hour. I was growing bored of my 'people watching'. It soon grew into the same type of people, showing up, same insults, same looks, ages, same everything. It was odd, no matter how physically different they looked, mentally they were all the same. Just like every other self absorbed village was. That is when everything started to remind myself of home. The same way people acted, as if they ruled everything, even if they didn't. It bothered me, I wanted to find a place that wasn't like home, a place free of judgment, free of horrors, free of negativity. Could it be I just want to live in seclusion? All by myself? Would I be really free then? I would be free of judgment, horrors and mostly free of negativity. That is true, but I could also bring self pain.
"I am to tired to think about impossibilities of the world." I mumble aloud to myself.
I fall into silence. Even the people around me grew silent. It was around late evening. Within hours it would be dark. I had to choices, I could get out of the village and find a place to rest, or find a house willing to spare a room for the night. Either option wasn't neccisarly a bad one, just the fact that I told a soldier that i was going to be out by tonight and that the option of finding a safe place to stay in the wilderness is very rare.
