*~*~Chapter Nine~*~*

I was woken by persistent shaking on my body. I groaned and swatted the hand away. A chuckle filled the room and I opened one eye at a time. I was met with blue grey eyes. I panicked, causing me to jump and hit my head on the wall. I winced and touched the back of my head. I groan. "Ow."

Damon smiles and then he looks worried. "Are you okay?"

"No I just hit my head on the wall... I feel like a queen." I grumble.

"Let me help you up." He offers a hand.

I take his hand and get up. My head grew light and I stumbled a bit. "Oh my." I feel his hand steady me.

"When was the last time you have had a decent meal or a decent rest?" Concerned filled his voice.

I thought long and hard, unable to come up with a date. He must have gotten the hint and helps me down the stairs. I was still light headed but not nearly as bad as before. When he lead me to his kitchen and seated me down at a chair I felt awkward. Imagine that, I felt awkward. I watched as he got some odd looking stuff out of the cupboards and put therm on a plate. Then turning to me he sets the plate down. I look down at the food. It was some leafy thing. I look back up at him. He raised an eyebrow.

"What is this?" I ask, trying to sound polite but I sounded obnoxious. I winced.

He laughed. "Its just an herb, it will make you feel better. I promise," He smiles.

I sigh and a pain in my stomach formed. I was suddenly hungry. So hungry anything tasted amazing. I then take a few bites. The herb was bitter. I couldn't help but make a face. The flavor wasn't bad, just the bitterness was hard to get used to. I look up and see Damon drinking some tea. I look at him, and then the tea. He sets it down and grabs a different cup and hands it to me. The warm liquid felt wonderful against my dry throat.

"Thank you." I nod my head.

"Not a problem." Damon sighs. "Why didn't you tell me who you were?"

I nearly choked on my own saliva. I look up at him "W-What?"

Damon's eyes flashed slight annoyance, and then back to seriousness. "Why didn't you tell me you were Queen Renee's last daughter?"

I stayed silent. "I thought people forgot about me..." I mumbled.

"What?" Damon shrieked. "Why you are the queen's daughter!"

I shake my head. "Father remarried after her death, and Sarini blames me for the death of mother, and so everybody things that Lia, died also when Queen Renee died. When people see me they think I am a cousin who's parents died or something." I look down at my hands. The air thick with suspense and confusion, and most of all thoughts.

Damon's hand shot up so quickly I flinched and fell off my chair. I protected myself by curling myself into a ball. I started to shake. I repeated "I'm sorry."

Damon crouched over and wraps his arms around me. "I wasn't going to hit you, or hurt you in any way. Why would I?"

I shivered and looked up at him. "Sorry." I mumbled and turned away.

Damon pulled back and asked a question no person has ever asked. "King Wade.... Did he ever hurt you?"

I looked at him. All I could do was just nod. It wasn't an everyday thing, only when I would come home late, or if he was drunk and would yell at me for causing Renee to die, and stuff like that. How he wished it was me who died instead. I took every verbal and physical punch he could throw at me.
