PROLOGUE. 

He saved me.

He didn't need to nor did he have to, but he did.

He saved me.

He could've left me amidst the scorching hot fire to burn to ashes, but he didn't.

He saved me.

I would forever be grateful for that. I didn't know what made me search for him though he made it pretty clear that saving me was a one-time thing and that he never wanted to see me again. But that tug in my heart led me forward and it told me to follow him.

Why? Because he saved me.

And so, as I moved boxes from the truck and into my house, when I finally caught sight of those bright, passionate, unforgettable emerald orbs staring into my own with much intensity, I knew why I'd come here.

Because after all these years, I needed to know exactly why he'd saved me.
