Almorah looked at the great round city spiraling to a top with sand colored cement walls. They walked carefully along the Plans of Dechoneus, Cladius had informed her and her brother that they would drive a man mad. The plans were designed to make three steps one, and the journey seem never ending, however the locals knew a special walk to get past them quickly.
Luckily, a hunter had decided to go with them, and none other than Jimmy himself. The well rounded man smiled and sang the whole way there, his sandy skin and black hair all too familiar now. He had cut their travels in half, and Almorah was grateful, she could only imagine how their trek would have gone without his leadership. Cladius walked beside the man, visiting, but not quit speaking loud enough for the blue haired woman to hear. Her golden eyes followed wearily along the path. They had run out of water, but Jimmy had promised the city was no more than an hour away.
"How much longer," Almorah asked again.
Cladius smiled under his helmet as Jimmy replied, "Oh, just a little ways."
The woman could see the giant walls more closely now. She was slightly frustrated, would this ever end?
"Well here we are." Jimmy said stopping suddenly.
Almorah glanced up to see the city nearly five miles away, looking as small as her.
"What do you mean? That's at least four to five miles off!" Almorah said, raising her voice.
"It's an illusion, my pupil." Cladius called back.
"Sorry what" Almorah replied in confusion, as Agular just trekked along.
"You can't see through it?" Cladius asked.
The whole group starred at him funny, none of them could see it, not even Jimmy.
"Well, those must be some fine eyes, you got there sir knight, because even I can't see through it!" Jimmy said in surprise and excitement.
The fat man placed his hand through as he took a step forward; he took a single step before turning around and smiling at the group, beckoning them to come forward. Cladius stepped forward turning his attention back at the brother and sister. Agular walked forward placing his hand on an invisible wall as Almorah rolled her eyes. She reluctantly walked forward to reveal the great wall in front of her face.
"What fine craftsmanship!" Agular said in a soft whisper.
"Come now, let us hurry to the gate, I'm thirsty." Cladius replied taking his helmet off and smiling.
They walked towards the gate as a warrior greeted them. He wore a helmet with a single eye slit and sand stained clothes running down too his shoulders. His armor was made with scale mail, and an iron breast plate. He looked at each individual tilting his head at their Helmish origin.
"A knight of Helm, two noble guest and a hunter from Multiah. What would be your business? And I will need your names."
"I am Sir Cladius, from Helm this is my pupil Almorah, and her brother Agular. This Multiah Hunter leads us with safe passage to arrive here in Dechoneus. I have important business as I come as a friend and Ally. First a warning that Helm has fallen, that its people regroup now in the forts of the north east. Second, we wish to speak to King Helv for aid. Third that I am to find the Sun God, he is perhaps the only one who can save this land from the void on the horizon." Cladius said with firmness.
"Understood, I will send for King Helv at once." The warrior said, turning his head to the gate keeper. He waved his arm into the sky, using a raising motion, "Open the gate!"
"Thank you, sir." Cladius replied stepping forward.
Almorah thought it amazing the innards of the city. At the peak of the mountain like city was a long slender spire, the castle of Dechoneus, Deechjia. Iron torches were aligned each building as a sort of street light. The buildings were made of an unknown material but held to the same color as the wall. The site was amazing to behold.
The young woman glanced at a small frail older gentleman as he rushed towards the top of the spire. Cladius looked about as he started his way forward toward the inn oft in the corner. The fields were nothing more than sand, and the road a dull cold brick, with no color. Cladius opened the wooden door, with iron hinges. The inn was full of locals, and travelers, little did they know of the outside troubles.
Almorah followed the knight as he politely asked for a room to stay in. They followed the woman who showed them a four bedroom room. She gave a quick bow before leaving, apologizing as to only having one room.
Cladius thanked her as he began to walk in.
"Cladius, why are knights of Helm so well revered," Almorah asked.
Cladius gave a small chuckle as he glanced at the beautiful woman, "Someone didn't pay attention in history. We saved them from destruction to put it simply."
"What did we do?" Almorah asked.
Cladius could see both, Agular and Almorah were paying a good deal of attention towards him.
"Very well, sense you both don't know I will inform you." Cladius started, "Before the gift of the sun, the world was lit by the Gods themselves walking among men. This was before each individual kingdom. Inger, Dechoneus, Helm, all men were one, even the rumors of those who left this world, Lumesc, and fell off it by way of sea."
"Yes, we know all of this, get to the good part." Almorah said.
Cladius smiled, "Of course. Well skip a fifty years after the settlements of men, and within the first year of the sun, a man by the name of Fejika, a North man who would begin the Inger Empire, decide he would harvest the sun, in his land of the cold. This man believed Dechoneus to be the answer to harvesting its power. He raised an army and was to climb to the spire, that this great city is built upon and harvest the sun's energy. Little did he know the sun represented the coming of the God of Life, the Son of Claydrin. So he marched with his armies luckily Claydrin raised a man by the name of Helkimor, the first king of Helm, to fight this man, to retain the gift given to man. We saved Dechoneus from under doom, and from being Inger today."
"I never knew" Agular paused, "About the Fejika's attempt to steal the sun, of course."
Almorah smiled, as Cladius laughed, "Yes, of course."
"I'm hungry, and thirsty, let us obtain subsidence." Cladius said, guiding his group to the tables bellow.
