Nerus, blocked the demon's mighty hand against his shield. Two knights came by his side, slamming their spear tips into the ribs of the enemy. The demon roared in pain as it swung its claws at Nerus. The sharp edge tore through Neru's Helmet, slashing into his eye and face; He fell a good three feet back, once he had taken air. A knight of Inger leaped up into the air, slamming his double edged battle axe into the caller bone of the red demon, the other spear wielding gentlemen went for the heart and head, finally felling the fiend. Nerus could feel the blood dripping into his mouth, the taste of iron and bitter salt touching his tongue. He looked up into the sky as it all faded to black.
Lennix could feel the broken rips in his body, the constant pain and grinding noise he knew wasn't healthy, not even for an ommart. He felt blood dripping from his bottom lip as he stared the beast down. He thrusted his blade into the heart of the fiend, the demon roaring, only coming closer, the steel still inside; The demon took his arms, holding Lennix as he slowly crushed his crippled body, and chomped down on his neck with his rotting teeth. Lennix grunted, and yelled back as he bit into the demon's flesh. The monster snarled, dropping Lennix, and holding its hand. He then continued his assault, with his dagger from his boot, slamming it into the foot of the beast, sliding the blade up its shin and to its knee cap. The fiend's body fell to the ground, its other two arms, holding its leg. Lennix, crawled on top, shaking the demon until it stopped drawing breathe.
Suddenly the demons all turned back, not paying attention anymore to their enemies, the portal in the sky, growing wider beyond measure, then suddenly closing in a flash of dark energy. They had won the day. Seeing the portal closed gave vigor and moral to the tired troops, as they began to fight harder. The knights of Inger, and the Knights of Helm, finally fighting side by side, in glorious battle; this proved that peace was once again restored.
Cladius looked about the empty room, his eyes trailing along the frame of the floor. The tiles were the style of Helmish design. He looked over to his right; Almorah was sleeping in the chair beside him, her hands holding his. He quickly sat up, trying not to wake the woman holding his hand. Gently he rested his head against the frame of his bed. He took in a deep breathe, closing his eyes for a period of time. Bandages adorned his face, one around his left eye, cuts and scrapes all over, and bandages covering his naked torso. He was lucky to be alive. He opened his eyes as he spotted the door to the bottom left of the room open. A big arc way with a bronze stone design, told Cladius where he was.
"Welcome, King Cladius." An unfamiliar voice said.
Cladius looked at the man closely. He represented a face not seen before by the god's eyes. He wasn't overly tall, nor was he short, but he stood stout with a lean, yet muscular, body. His long dark locks of hair flowed back behind his head, tucked behind his ears. It was messy hair, but it suited him, he seemed to make it look professional. He smiled a genuine smile as he spotted the woman beside Cladius, his milk brown eyes full of light, and joy.
"Who are you? Is this..." Cladius ask in a soft tone.
"Yes, this is Dechoneus. My-lady thought her bed chambers to be most comforting for you while you recovered. My name is Helion, and I have been nursing you for the past three weeks."
"Three weeks?" Cladius said in uproar, quickly hushing his voice as Almorah stirred, "May I talk to your lady, surely I have much to ask."
"Indeed, she sits beside you." The man smiled, "though it appears you fear of waking her."
"Indeed, I suppose it can wait, Helion, may you do me a favor?"
"Of course, my lord, what is it you ask?" Helion replied quickly.
"Can I see Nerus?"
"Um, sir. That task is more complicated than you might think."
"Is he... dead?" Cladius asked, a lump forming in his throat.
