Hell's Kitchen, Apartment complex: July 30th2013, 6:52 PM
Hell's kitchen, one of the well-known midtown neighborhoods in New York City. Three to five story buildings sprawled the area, with only one tall apartment building.
The Manhattan Plaza, originally built for the public, this building housed the performing artists of the city and abroad instead.
It had been the lone apartment plaza, but now it was no longer alone.
One half-finished Skyscraper apartment complex could be seen from it a few yards away.
The Apartment complex in question was in fact the one where the hostages were being kept, it was empty, it was 90% finished, it was perfect to hold up in and take prisoners.
Which is why the empty building had seven living shadows jump across the rooftops and land on the roof of the same apartment building.
The shadows shifted until they became the Heroes Legion.
All of them, save shadow knight looked sick to their stomachs.
"Jeeze, you could have warned us that "shadow warping" would make us feel like we just went three rounds on the mind bender!" Robo-warrior said to shadow knight.
"Shadow walking! It's called shadow walking.... And I didn't know, okay!" Shadow knight growled, "I've never moved seven people at once before through the shadow realm..."
"I think I'd of preferred Velocity to have super speeded us up here from the Battle Falcon,instead..." Atlanta said holding her stomach.
"That's the problem with a majority decision, majorities can be wrong from time to time" Raven added, leaning over the side of the building in case she lost her dinner.
"All right guys, walk it off. We've got work to do" M-leader said, and began to lead them to the roof access door.
The Heroes Legion followed suit, and descended into the darkened bowels of the empty Apartment building.
For the first two floors, nothing happened.
Robo-warrior's systems weren't detecting anything, save for the hostages a floor below them on the 22ndthfloor.
So the Heroes legion proceeded with caution, but as they reached the 23rdfloor, they all began to wonder if this wasn't what it seemed.
"So far so easy, a little too easy..." Silicon said suspiciously.
"I don't like this!" Shadow knight said warily.
"Neither do I..." Robo-warrior said in agreement, "Cyber-29 doesn't detect anything, but something about this doesn't feel right"
They continued, until they came to the hostage floor.
"Okay..." Silicon said peeking into the room from the corner of the room's door, "seven hostages, no one in the room...this is starting to freak me out. Where's Meta-Master, it doesn't make sense he wouldn't be here to keep an eye on his hostages, doesn't it?"
"Maybe there's more to this than we think, Robo-warrior...." M-leader motioned to the cybernetic hero "do a life sign scan on them, find out if they're alive...or human for that matter"
Without question, Robo-warrior from the safety of the shadows scanned the adjacent room with his infrared laser eye visor scanner device.
"I detect heartbeats, they have 98.6 heat signatures and they seem to be unconscious because I detect slow breathing sounds coming from the hostages...I detect no signs of bombs or anything else that hints of this being a trick or a trap."
