Chapter 6: Subway Wars

Heroes Legion Mansion, Bayveiw Palisades/ Brooklyn: August 1st 2013, 2:30 Pm

All was quiet at the lonely manor on the edge of the bayside Palisades, until a very eager pair of hands began knocking on the door and pressing the doorbell.

Stephanie breathed a sigh of relief when the door opened and M-Leader poked his head out.

"Steph!? What are doing here, I thought you were working?" M-leader asked confused.

"I was...my hands were shaking, I tried to press the button that would send me inside the mansion...but I pushed the one that would send me out here apparently"

She handed M-Leader the slipstream device, he clasped her hands with his and examined the device.

"It's roughed up, badly!" M-leader said looking at the slipstream drive "what happened, you're shaking like a Richter scale"

"Richter scale? That has to be the most compassionately nerdy...and large understatement of the year I have ever heard!" Stephanie said snarkily.

M-leaders eyes flashed brightly, and then he got really worried.

"Brawl!" he declared, "Did he...?"

"He didn't follow me...." Stephanie assured Silicon, "I just ran after he let me go and slipstreamed here as fast as I could. He doesn't have to either...he just wanted me to give you guys a message"

"Actually I was going to ask if he hurt you" M-leader corrected.

Steph was taken aback by this statement.

She was touched as well by Marcus's concern for her, when he didn't have to be.

"Come downstairs, you'll be safer there" M-leader assured.

"Clubhouse" War Room, Heroes Legion Mansion: August 1st 2013, 2:32 pm

Stephanie walker was seated on a chair in the room that Marcus told her was called the War room, wrapped in a warm blanket drinking something the Silicon assured would help her get over her shock quickly.

As she drank the warm liquid that tasted like lemon, she noticed that General Arcane was still here with the Heroes Legion.

She groaned, and then asked M-leader "how is Raven?"

"She still hasn't woken up, Murdoch's been with her since last night" M-leader answered, placing a comforting hand on Stephanie's shoulders.

"I hope she gets better soon" Stephanie offered her condolences.

"We all do" Robo-warrior agreed.

"Miss Walker" Arcane spoke, "you said that Brawl ambushed you to get you to tell you to tell us...them (The Heroes Legion) a message. How did he know you knew how to find and reach them?"

"He didn't, I had to tell him I could to keep myself alive. He would have killed me if I had said I didn't know where to find you guys...I'm sorry" Stephanie Walker said apologetically.

"It wasn't your fault...." Atlanta assured.

"What did Brawl tell you?" pressed Shadow knight.

"Whatever it was, it must not have been good news at all." Velocity added.

"No...it wasn't!" Stephanie answered, "He said if you didn't meet him at Pelham Park, he'd hope a train from there and head for Times Square. He wouldn't stop until you showed up...I think we know EXACTLY what he means by that"
