I haven't slept really good last night, probably because I am not used to sleeping with multiple people in one bed. It just didn't give me the feeling of sleeping. I don't know if I'm just unable to sleep with others in one bed, or if she just made me uncomfortable somehow. I'm trying really hard not to wake Kateryna up while I slowly get up and change my clothes. She still wakes up somehow after I just took my other clothes on that I left to dry overnight. I know John is not a morning person, but she seems way worse. I, of course, just say good morning and move on to do my daily morning ritual. While I am making tea, she walks out of the bedroom. I made tea for the both of us, since John is still sleeping. Kateryna doesn't seem to care that he is sleeping though and throws a wet piece of cloth towards him. This causes John to wake up and you can really see the frustration on him when he does. "Wake up lazy guy!", she shouts to wake him up even more. It isn't meant in any harming way so John still gets a small smile on his face. Kateryna takes out a bread and gives both of us a slice of it. "Eat it", she says. I never knew someone could be like this in the morning, especially not if they look as annoyed as she did when she walked out the bedroom. Over time she seems to get more calm though, like she was when we had just met her.
It's almost 2 in the afternoon and we talk about how we are going to do our break in exactly. We also discuss some worst case scenarios that might happen, even while they are very unlikely to occur. I think it's good to actually plan on what to do when things go wrong. I have always gone for the safe approach. It's not that much to talk over though, since everything going wrong can be fixed with John waiting outside and making a bird noise or something like that when anything goes bad. John, as a hunter, is really good with doing those sounds so we have nothing to worry about. Kateryna starts preparing her tools for tonight, while John is carving some kind of whistle out of a piece of wood. I am a little bit bored, since I don't really have anything to do for tonight. I am so bored, I even started writing some songs on paper. I don't do this because there is any point I am working to, I just think it's a great reminder of this journey afterwards. After hours of writing I came up with another song that seemed pretty good. It isn't really a sensitive song, since I felt like writing something to give me courage.
People go ask where you from boy
Try to give you hard times, try to fuck with your mind
Make you run boy, but you make no sound
Stand your ground and look 'em in the eyes, say:I don't come here for trouble, but give me a reason
And it's gonna be a rumble in the jungle
Motherfucker no problem, bring your friends
And your family and I'm gonna fuck 'emDie, die, die 'cause you shouldn't have fucked with me
I say die, die, die, 'cause you shoulda just let me be
I told ya [3x]
Let's get ready to rumble in the jungle! It's time to go now though and as we're leaving I start singing my new song of courage. Both John and Kateryna are looking weird at me as I shout 'Die' from the top of my lungs. They have only seen me as the calm guy I always am, so I can't really blame them. When I'm done singing, John asks what that was all about. I tell him that it's just a way of giving myself courage, like a war song. As we arrive at the king's house, I get a little bit nervous. I have never really done anything illegal in my life and it surprises me how easy Kateryna breaks into the house of such an important man. I walk inside with her and search for the library, where he should be storing all his files. It's a pretty big house though, so it's not the easiest. Even when I find the library, I would have no idea where to look if it wasn't for Kateryna being so extremely smart. She takes out a few books and a box. In the box she takes a few loose papers out and puts it in my bag. As she is done, John randomly makes the bird sound and we run out the back of the house. At least, we hoped we could. The backdoor is locked and it's going to take too long to unlock it according to Kateryna. Instead, she smashes a window and runs out with me following her. The second she's out, she dives into some kind of bush. I just follow her of course, not knowing what kind of bush we're in. While we wait she grabs my hand and tells me to keep calm, which I wasn't of course. If they find out we did this, we're most likely going to be hung. She kisses me on my cheek and I look surprised at her. I don't really know why she did this at all so I get really shy. It's not that she's a bad person, it is just that I did not expect this and I honestly just don't think she's going to be satisfied with the boring person I am. I decide to talk to her about it a little while we wait for John to give us the sign that we're safe. I just really don't want her to feel bad because of my social awkwardness. Not many words come out though, before John makes the sound of safety. We walk out of the bushes and I am still a little bit red. John looks at me and his smile goes off his face. I don't really know why though, does he like her by any chance? I think I will ask him later when Kateryna is not around.
