Carl's Point Of View•

"Oh c'mon Lynn." I scoffed quietly as we walked silently through the woods, just leading off the trail to look for some food. A twig under my foot snapping was what caught my attention for a mere second, making my hand automatically reach for my switch blade.

"Stop bugging me," Adelynn sighed out of annoyance, making a small smile of pride tug on my lips. "It was one time. And it wasn't important."

Ha. Not important my ass. What did you expect? You cut yourself over a dead guy, and it's not a big deal? Psh.

"What if mom and da-"

"You wouldn't." She gasped, stopping in her tracks as I took a couple steps forward before turning to give her a look. My left eyebrow raised in confusion, and satisfaction as she narrowed her eyes at me.

"Oh I would." I challenged, a smug smirk plastering itself across my face, making the cocky expression a valuable treasure. Adelynn's eyes filled with tears, I knew she doesn't cry much so watching her struggle to keep it back broke my heart.

My sister and I fight a lot, but we've been doing it since day one. Being twins isn't always easy, especially when you have to share everything. However, the one thing that I can't stand is when she cries.

Automatically, my expression dropped back to a soft and gentle one, feeling pity on her even. "Adelynn, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to make you upset." I ushered, scratching the back of my neck as an awkward silence filled the moment I took to not talk, as so did she. "I promise I won't tell Mom or Dad." That's when her tears vanished, a cocky smile spread, and laughter bellowed out.

Oh my fucking god, she did not just trick me.

Her laughter filled the quiet forest as I stood with my eyes wide, and my hands flying to cross over my chest. I narrowed my eyes at her as her laughing session came to a complete stop. "Your expression was priceless!" She shouted, laughing a bit afterwards making my face heat up with anger.

It's one thing to trick me, but another to add tears into the mix. She knows that's my weakness.

Instead of adding fire to her raging laughter, I turned on my heels as I began walking further into the patches of green and brown, a little bit of yellow or purple when a flower showed up. "Carl!" Adelynn called out as I continued to walk further away from her. Twigs and little bits of gravel made her heavy footsteps more evident as she ran after me, only a short distance since I was only walking. "You can't seriously be mad at me?" Her voice that was full of laughter and pride a minute ago was now concerned, shocked, and the slightest bit guilty.

"Hm, no I'm not mad. But I'm just frustrated with your acts you keep pulling." Believe it or not, this is the third time she's pulled this little trick on me. The first time was about a year ago when I was going to tell on her for making out with her ex boyfriend, now dead, on our couch when our parents went out.
