•Adelynn's point of view•
"I'm gonna hit you if you don't stop." I chuckled as Carl kicked my shin again. Leaning over the RV's table, I smacked his arm.
"Hey." A wide smile spread across his face as he looked at me. Sticking my tongue out I noticed Judith, our 5 year old little sister was walking over to us. Her long, thick brown hair came down past her shoulders and her light blue eyes were fixated on Carl's, she was playing with the hem of her over sized sweat shirt that our father had found.
"What is it Judy?" Carl asked with the same look he always seems to give me when he asks that similar question.
"Can I sit with you?" This time she looked at me, a smile had planted on my face from how cute she was being at that moment.
"Of course." I patted the leather seat next to me, offering her to sit down, which she kindly took. She snuggled into my side, cuddling up as if she was trying to keep warm.
"Trader." Carl stuck his bottom lip out to look like he was pouting, which got Judith to move from my side to Carl's.
"Whatever." I joked. The trees that slowly started to fade away is what caught my attention, every second that we continued to pass the trees began to disappear, making it clear that we were becoming distant from the forest.
"Why are they stopping?" Glenn mumbled to himself as he looked at the map that was currently in his dirt covered hands. Everyone in the RV stood to look out the front windshield where they had stopped. Dad was the first one to jump out, then Shane, and then everyone from the three other vehicles that were at a stand still in the blazing sun.
Glenn, my father, Shane and Daryl all stood in a huddle around the jeeps hood, looking at the map, debating on the possible ways to go. To my right I saw my mother, Judith and Maggie standing hand in hand together, discussing what it seems like to be about finding another place to stay instead of traveling from place to place, making our own camps that we always eventually get pushed out of.
Birds were chirping, people's shoes were scraping against the pavement, everyone's words got clustered together as they all talked at once. My mind focused on one individual conversation. The guys.
"Do you think it's there?" Glenn's recognizable voice boomed through my head. I stared off at nothing but the trees as I concentrated on listening.
"Yeah, I do. And I think we'll be able to clean it out." My father replied to his question.
Where were we going? Is it safe? Was it a livable place?
"Adelynn." Carl waved his hand in my face, shaking me out of my trance, and pulling me back to the real world.
"Oh, sorry. I was just, thinking."
"We're going now." He informed me, giving a small nod as I turned and headed back into the RV, taking the spot that I had earlier.
•1 hour later•
The RV came to a stop, jerking us forward unexpectedly. I looked out the foggy window, a four story building that looked quite run down and old, catching my attention. From the back there was a tall fence surrounding a large patch of dead grass and some trees were scattered around the inside.
