Amanda stood, arched her back in a relieving stretch and looked around at the nursery. It was nearly completed, she just had one more wall to finish and then Eric would need to move the crib and changing table back in.

At nearly seven months along, the whirlwind of moving had exhausted her, and finally she was beginning to get into the spirit of getting the house together. The house had been unpacked, however, the decorations and personal touches of what made a house a home had been neglected. After 3 weeks in their new home, she had finally felt the energy return and had begun to decorate the house, slowly making this house into a home.

The house that Amanda and Eric had found was much bigger than what they had been living in. It was one story ranch style house with a long porch that sported a front porch swing that Amanda was in love with. Being able to sit outside at night and look up at the stars was always what she wanted. The company had paid the moving expenses, and she was so grateful that she didn't have to pack up the house.

The new house was so amazing and she loved to walk around and just touch the walls and admire the architect. The outside was stone and wood, the bottom part of the exterior stone and the upper part wood. Through the front door, which was a large door with long glass panels on either side, led into the living room where she could see all the way to the back of the house. It was an open floor plan, which she adored, and one that invited warm and comfortable vibes when you stepped through the door.

Next to the fireplace there was an inglenook which Amanda had immediately claimed for her own,  asking Eric to install bookshelves along the outer edge of the nook;  creating a small, cozy place for her to look overlook the side yard and read.

The kitchen was amazing, and Amanda enjoyed her morning coffee sitting in front of the wall of windows that faced outwards to the backyard. The kitchen had a ceiling to floor pantry and 4' x 8' island, with a pot rack hanging over it. On the island was a stainless steel jar spice rack that was embedded into the surface and also had built in drawers. The previous owners had left the bamboo drawer organizers in them that Amanda had always admired but always managed to forget to purchase.

A patio door led out to a slab of concrete that had a cast stone wood fire pit smack in the middle, and Eric had erected a pull out Rivera awning that attached to the house. Where the rod was attached to the house, lights illuminated along the bottom that was visible if the awning was opened or rolled in. There was also a privacy and sun protection screen that could be rolled down if she needed it, and a dark bamboo patio furniture with tan upholstery that Amanda and Eric had picked out.

The furniture was arranged around a fire pit and is where they spent a lot of their evenings together.

There were two bedrooms; the master suite had a bathroom with a roomy bathtub, dual sinks with copious counter space, a giant closet for towels and such, as well as a separate shower.

The bedroom had a large floor to ceiling window as well and another wall that had a sliding closet door built in. The door slid open to reveal a beautiful walk in closet. She had never been in a house as luxurious as this, and though she felt they couldn't afford something so nice, Eric assured her that they could afford it because of the new position.

The bedroom that she was currently painting was a pretty spacious room itself, but this room lacked ceiling to wall windows that were evident in nearly every room in the house. These windows were big and spacious, but were normal in their placement and let in plenty of the sunshine to brighten up the room nicely.

This room also supported a built-in sliding closet door and a spacious closet as well. They had decided to place the dresser in the closet until the baby was older, and against the wall with the windows, the crib would be placed there. Adjacent to the crib, a changing table would be positioned and then the fun of decorating the room would ensue.

They had both made the decision to give away Jenny's clothes, except for all her firsts that they had saved over the years. Art work that she had done were placed in an album and sat in the living room on the mantel of the fireplace, and special stuffed animals and particular things that they wanted were saved and stored.

They decided not to keep the furniture that had been in Jenny's room and had donated those and the clothes to the local church.

The items for the baby were all new, except for the blanket that Jenny had since she was born and lay folded on their dresse.

She was so happy ... so content.

She was happy that she had decided to take the step in moving, she felt comfortable in the home and was finally looking forward to the arrival of the new baby.
