I felt a strong anticipation rush through me. I couldn't understand how I was suppose to react about this.
"Hiro?"
A part of me is telling me not to believe her but another part wanted to. If this were true, I don't know if I will be happy or angry or sad, I really don't know what I would feel.
"Do you believe me?" she asked.
"I..."
I looked straight into her eyes; I need to know if she was telling the truth. But I couldn't understand what her eyes say, even though they're brown, I felt like I was drowning when I stare at them so I turned away. Even though I feel sorry for her, she is still with Savina whom I don't really trust.
"Hiro, do you believe me?" she asked again.
I didn't realize I was clenching my fists which I think she noticed, I sighed, "No."
"What? But I think–" she got shocked.
"You know what I think? I think you're crazy. A person who died a year ago can't still be alive." my voice had risen.
"But Hiro, it's the truth," she said.
"I don't know if I should trust you. I don't trust your master so its hard to trust you."
Her reaction changed, "How can you say that?"
"Do you really expect me to believe that so easily? Give me a good reason why I should believe you? Explain to me how can Tadashi be still alive after a year and how would he survive a fire?"
"Hiro, it's the truth! I'm not allowed to tell you more."
"If it's so classified, then you shouldn't have told me that in the first place. You know, you're not really trustworthy, you tell people secrets that they shouldn't really know." I yelled. This was the first time I raised my voice with anger to a girl but I couldn't help myself, I felt angry.
"Because I wanted you to know, I tell people what they have to know and they deserve to know. And I think you deserve to know about your brother!" she yelled back but tears were dripping from her cheek and they turn solid before they hit the ground.
"Why?" I asked as I turn my back on her. I think I finally lost patience with this girl.
"Because–" she hesitated.
I glanced at her but with a blank expression, "What's my life got to do with you?"
"It's because I care about you, Hiro. I've admired you for a very long time now!" she cried.
Again, my reaction changed from angry to shock.
"This is why I always wore the necklace to turn into my human form and that's why I still choose to live in San Fransokyo even though its full of bad memories. I pretended to go to school at SFIT only to see you and Ms. Savina didn't know that, she thinks I'm still doing my duties as a Water Guardian." she continued on.
I didn't know how I would react right now or what would I say.
"Even Jake didn't know. I had to conceal my emotions but you were so perfect. To me you were perfect, the guy I've always dreamed of. In fact, you're the very first boy I saw." she wasn't looking at me.
"Iya..." I hear myself saying.
She covered her face with her hands and she was still shedding tears. Why didn't she tell me this sooner, everything might've been different. At least I think it would.
I slowly walked towards her then embraced her, I felt her fidget a bit. I don't know why but I hated seeing her hurt like this. I hate seeing her hurt because of me.
I stroked her hair while hugging her. "I'm sorry, I didn't know." I said.
She broke the hug then smiled but still looking a bit teary, "I understand, I'm sorry too for shocking you like that."
"Tell me, how did my brother survive?" I asked.
She looked down then sighed, "I'm not suppose to tell this but I saved him and he almost lost his life. After I did, Ms. Savina took him and left. I don't know where she went; she's the only one who knows where your brother is right now. I think he's with Prince Noctis and the other missing people."
"I knew she was evil. We have to find what she's asking for as soon as possible. Who knows what she might do to him, to them. Résh and the others need to know about this." I said. She just nodded her head.
I looked at her once more, she looked puzzled. "Iya, I promise you. After all this is over. I'm gonna take you away from her."
A smile curled up to her face, "Thanks, Hiro. I never expected meeting you like this." she said.
"Yeah," I chuckled then I felt my face burn up when she gave me a kiss on the cheek before leaving. I found myself lighting up after that.
I watch her go and felt time slow down. "Wow..." I ended up saying.
So I guess I believe her after all. My brother, Tadashi was alive after all this time, thanks to her. More importantly, Résh needs to know that Savina really was evil and we have to get what she wants but I have a feeling that we shouldn't get them, I really don't understand. I laid on the grass, staring at the moon that was full, then I picked up a blue diamond beside me. I smiled at it, that single diamond reminded me of her. "Thanks."
