(Zane~senpais pov)

Today's Kazumis 6th birthday she came bounding down the hallway and she pounced on us as If we were injured mice as she pawed at us we slowly woke up looking at the ball of joy looming above us her black hair falling limply to her shoulders, her tiny cat fangs sharp and playfully young, her amber eyes dance and glimmer in youthful optimism innocent of this world's cruel ways, and her black tail and ears twitched adorably curios. "Mommy daddy it's my birthday!!" Kawaii~chan giggled mischievously "no it can't be your birthday was last year"
"Hmph mommy it is my birthday!"
"Ha I know I'm messing with you"
"So honey what do you wanna do for your birthday?"
"Oh oh oh can we go to the water park?!"
"Of course go get dressed"
"Ok daddy" Kazumi giggled and skipped in youthful exuberance to her room to get dressed. "Shes growing up so fast she's even growing into her ears" Kawaii~chan sighed absent mindedly "yeah I remember when she was 1 and she used to pull my hair and move it away from my eye"
"And she used to pull my ears and tail although painful yet worth it Kawaii~chan couldn't be happier"
"Haha ya" I sigh content. "Zane~senpai?"
"Yes my pink haired angel" I cooed. "I'm sorry"
F-for what?" I ask concerned. "For all the shit you had to deal with when kawaii~chan was pregnant"
"It's ok she came out healthy and happy and she's such a big ball of joy that just gets spread to everyone around her like some plague of joy and to top it all off she's as beautiful as her mother" I complimented before giving her a quick peck on the cheek. *le time skip brought to you by travelyn* Hours of exaughsting fun Kazumi curled up into a ball and fell asleep in her bedroom. "Zane?"
"Yes?"
"Kawaii~chan has a kinda depressing question Kawaii~chan understands if Zane~senpai doesn't wanna answer"
"Ask away"
"Well what would you do if Kawaii~chan died? And answer honestly" my heart dropped. "you know I will answer honestly. If you die before me I would fall into a state of maddening depression and anxiety, I'd think of joining you but knowing my past and all the people I've hurt you'd be joining Irene herself and I'll be going down into the eternal flames. Of course I'll try to stay sane for Kazumis sake. Yet I'd always get flashbacks of you and my grief would grow each day until I was dragged into a pit of self harm and alcoholism. Eventually giving up."
"Zane!" Kawaii~chan yelled eventually breaking down in a fit of tears. Hurriedly I hug kawaii~chan stroking her ears lovingly "Irene forbid that day shall come for years to come" I whispered as she nodded away into a blissful sleep.
