It Begins (Oh No)

Today is the day. Today is when the quest starts. Oh no.
Annabeth woke up without a word to me, and I felt pretty empty.

Today, Thalia tried to say hi to Annabeth, but she just walked wordlessly passed her.

Are all girls this touché?!

But eventually she had to stop ignoring me, since she sat with me for meals, and had the same schedule.

"So..." She muttered, bitterly. "Sup?"

"Annabeth, look, you have Percy. You don't need me." I started. "We are going to find a way, we are going to bring him back. I swear on the River Styx."

Thunder rumbled, and she stared at me, her eyes wide.

"Luke-" she started.

"I promise Annabeth." I said.

"Yeah, but where even are the others?" She asked. I knew she hated not knowing, it's an Athena thing.

"I had a dream..." I told her about my dream.

When I finished, she just stared at me. "So you think they got captured by Storm?"

I nodded grimly.

"Okay?" She muttered.

Then, I checked the time. 1:20 pm. We had to go.

"Annabeth, we're leaving now." I urged.

"What? Fine. Yes, fine." She muttered.

I said bye to Thalia, and Annabeth just waved.
She hugged Chiron goodbye, and we bid the others farewell.

Then, we grabbed our stuff, and walked out the safe borders of Camp.

*Time Elapse*

It was nighttime. Annabeth and I had made it to Queens Midtown, by the time.

"Where are we gonna find them?" She asked.

"Apparently there's an entrance on Mount Othrys...I mean Mount Tam." I explained.

"Where do you even learn that stuff?!" She grumbled. "I'm supposed to be smarter than you!" She joked.

"Go figure, Wisegirl."

I could tell she was uncomfortable when I called her that, it was her nickname by Percy.

We found a nice little park.
"Let's camp." She said, unrolling her mat.

"Okay." I nodded. "I'll take first watch."

"No!" She cried. "I am."

I learned a long time ago that arguing with Annabeth didn't bring you anywhere.

I just nodded, and crashed.

"Zoë! Help!"

"Bianca, I can't get to you, I'm sorry, I want to help!"

"Whips hurt..."

"You just figured out?"

"Shut up, Silena-GAAAAAAAAHHHH!"

"Be quiet, Chaotic scum. Tomorrow you will see Master Storm. Fear him."

"Make me."

*Snap*

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!"

"Silena!"

"Shh...Bianca..."

*Crack*

"Hey! Ow-ow-gah-OOOOOOWWWWWW!!!!"

"Zoë! Are you-WAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!"

"That'll teach you."

"*Grunt* never!"

*Snap*

"Okay okay okay okay okay. P-p-please-NOOO!!!"

"Now, behave, scum."

*Twist* "Hey." *Yank* "OUCH" *Pull* "AAA-mrrrrrph! Hrereeeeemmmmm!!!"

I woke up in cold sweat. Annabeth was still on the lookout.

"Your turn." She said.

"Annabeth, I had a dream. Zoë, Bianca, and Silena are being tortured by whips in Storm's headquarters. We have to free them and what if they die from too much-" I spluttered out, and Annabeth raised a hand.

"Woah there, Luke. Who's saying anything about death?! We are gonna make sure that doesn't happen." She said.

I could tell she was trying to boost the morale, but...

"Annabeth, I'll take watch. Get some shut-eye, before we continue, kay?"

She slumped down, and crashed.

I was still thinking about the others, and a bad plan, when Annabeth muttered, "No. You can't hurt her."

"Annabeth?" I asked. Her eyes were still closed, so she must've had a similar dream.

"Who?" She muttered.
"No-no. Not-n-not Shadow. Percy. Percy Jackson. Percy, please you can't. Remember the past. S-saved your life. Me, Seaweed Brain."

I looked over in concern, and I saw something silver on her cheek.
Then I realized it wasn't silver. It was a tear, glistening in her cheek, for Percy.
