I continued down the dark stormy road. I tried to get Annabeth back. I called her name a couple thousand times, and then gave up when there was no response.I trudged forward. Suddenly, a flash of gold caught my eye.
"Huh?" I wondered aloud. "Wha-"
I raced towards the light. Then, I realized that it was stardust. Stardust. Stars. Star...Gamma. Zoë. Oh shit, Zoë's in there.
I ran faster and faster. Where Zoë was must mean that's where the others were. I started to run out of breath, despite my immortality and all that shit.
"Oh gods..." I muttered under my breath. "Zoë, please hold on..." before I knew it, I was at the gates of the towering black castle.
"Um..." I gulped. I took a deep breath, and pushed them open.
CHAGUNK!!! I jumped a foot into the air at the sound if the lock slipping off, and the chains ripping. I continued, and was greeted with a CREAK CREAK CREAK-BANG!!!
I whirled around. The doors slammed in my face, and I cringed. I started forwards, but tripped over a loose brick and ended up on my face.
I brushed off my Greek battle armour, and spat out the dirt and dust. I looked in front of me.
There were tall corridors, a grand staircase, and a painting nearby. I looked up. A huge chandelier the size of like, an ELEPHANT was hanging suspended with one chain attached to the ceiling.
I shuddered, and headed towards the painting.
Clack...clack... I jumped and whirled around. No one... "hello?" I called. The sound stopped. No one was there.
I started to run. Click clack click clack... It, he, she, whatever it was, it was running. I started running faster, and then, would've bumped into the damn painting, except instead of running into it, I realized that it was an illusion that led to a portal.
I jumped into to the swirling maelstrom of neon colours, Greek letters and stars, not knowing where I was going. I ran through some big tunnel, and then found myself in a network of caves.
The footsteps were getting closer. I was about to choose a path, but before I could, a hand clasped onto my shoulder.
"AGH!" I screamed. I turned abruptly, imagining some monster with, what, green skin, grey eyes, basically something like Voldemort.
Instead, I came face to face with the person I least expected to see again.
"THALIA?!" I cried. She grinned. "Hey, Luke! Wassup?"
I was shocked and happy. I hugged her tight, and she did the same. Her choppy black hair swept over her eyes, and those same electric blue orbs burned like portals that led to a world of affection and...was that love I saw?
I shook the thought out of my head, and we held each other.
"Luke..." she whispered.
"Thalia. We have to find Zoë, Bianca and Silena! They're kidnapped. C'mon." I motioned towards a random direction, and she looked a bit disappointed, but didn't say anything.
We ran down some random tunnel, which led to a selection of cells. I slashed my sword into one, and found a road that led to sunlight.
"Where..." Thalia muttered. She clasped my hand, and we went in. I followed the road that led to the sunlight, and found some trees. Cars. Rocks. Grass. We were in the mortal world.
"Yes!" She cried. She hugged a tree and a rock, while I smirked and smiled. But my smirk quickly melted off my face when I saw where we were. I looked at the stuffed monster toys lining the old sidewalk.
The big swing hanging from the tree. Thalia looked at me, and then her eyes widened. "Luke..." she murmured. "I-"
I raised a hand to stop her. I looked at the colonial white house with the blue door, and the faded Greek letters etched deeply into the door. I could barely see them anymore, but I knew that they were Castellan in Greek.
I shut my eyes tight, and raised my hand to knock.
"Hi again, mom..."
