A Forgotten Recollection
All of the sudden, just like that, I remembered
That I have already forgotten you
And with anger to my mind I complained
Why in the world it had vacated you...Lulled by the embrace of a very old dream
Seeing it coming and going repeatedly
Very slowly it made me feel like drowning
Just to wake me up in another lethargy...I get overwhelmed by sadness and confusion
Unable to perceive what is true or what is false
What indeed is real or just my imagination
The present or the pass, or any time at all...And just like that something I remember
But by the instant I can't tell anything
Of what came to my mind like a flare
I can only say it was something tender
A beautiful face showing me love and care...Now I don't know if that face loved me
Or if it was somebody I used to love
It evaporated fast and away from me
Into the shadows everything did go...Finally, I don't know who am I talking to
If you're talking to me or if I'm talking to you
If this is a statement of a real story
Or just a legend, fruitage of invention
Or maybe a flash in my faded memory
Of just a single forgotten recollection.(c) Francisco Escaño
