I wake up the next day, glad it is Friday. So close to the weekend, yet so far. I still have to get through the day. Only 7 1/2 hours left to go. I look over and see my phone screen light up with a new message. I surprisingly have 5 new messages all from Owen. The first was sent last night, and the rest this morning.

"Sorry for being rude. I need to tell you something."

"Can I trust you?"

"Grace??????"

"Are you going to ignore me?"

"Is this payback? Maybe I just won't tell you." I speed through the messages and quickly type out a response.

"Sorry, I was asleep and my phone was on silent. You can trust me. What is it?"

"Are you sure you were just sleeping and not purposely trying to get back at me for ignoring you?" I can hear the anger dripping from the message. Why would he try to apologize and then go back to doing the same thing he was before? I wait a minute before replying to try and give him time to calm down.

"Yes, I don't stay up like most teens do. Will you please tell me whatever it is you need to?"

"I can't."

"Then why text me like it's extremely important?"

"I can't tell you over text....."

"Well, do you need to call me or do we need to do this face to face?"

"Face to face"

"Okay then. When and where? I will be there."

"Library at 5"

"Okay, I'll see you after school."

I sigh and put my phone into my backpack and get ready for school. I wonder what's bugging Owen so much. All I know is that it's too important to say over text. Is he moving? No, he could say that over text. Are his parents getting a divorce and just wants someone to talk to? At this point only Owen knows.

Once I got to school, I went straight to talk to Haley. Since she already had her liscence I needed to ask her for a ride to the library.

"Hey, Haley. I have a favor to ask."

"Oh, no. What do you need? Don't tell me you need a ride somewhere."

"Umm, maybe."

"Can't you ask your mom?"

"Nope," I reply popping the p.

"Why not?" she wines.

"She and my dad are having a date night."

"Fine, good thing I didn't have a date planned. Where and when?"

"Yay! I need to be at the library by 5."

"Really, the library. I know we're nerds, but do you really need to go there on a Friday night?"

"Yes, someone asked me there to meet them. They apparently need to tell me something important."

"Ooo, is it a guy?" She looks like she is going to burst from excitement.

"Yeah, what does that have to do with anything?"

"He's so going to confess his undying feelings for you!!" She gives me a duh look as she says this.

"You need to stop watching those rom-coms. Reality is nowhere near being similar to that. Besides this is Owen we are talking about."

"Don't you dare try to stop making me watch those movies. They're just so romantic. Didn't Owen try to tell you to stop talking to him yesterday. Bipolar much?" I laugh at her response.

"Who knows?"

We had to stop talking since the bell rang. Luckily the school day went by quickly. Probably due to the fact that I was constantly thinking about Owen and what he had to stay.
