"Can I come out?" I called out, getting scared of what could be near me. "No! You still have three minutes!" Rose yelled. I could feel my heart pounding as I looked around, praying that I would be fine.

Little shadows all around,

Tiny sounds start to surround,
Deep in the forest,
You start to head home,
Once what was seen,
Now just a dream,
It was just imagination.

It was safe to say that I was terrified now, even though I had just a short time left. I walked faster towards the opening, only to hear fast footsteps coming close to me. I looked around again, seeing a figure near a tree that was 20 feet away from me. "Wh..who's there?" I asked, feeling my heart pound up my throat. There wasn't a response and the shadowy figure stayed there, facing me. "Times up!" I heard Rose call, and I looked from the opening to the figure, deciding my next move. "Come one, Elizabeth! It's getting cold!" Isabella complained in the short distance away from me. I took another look to the figure, only it wasn't there. I took my chances and ran out of the forest as fast as I could, not even stopping to tell Rose nor Isabella. I could hear them chasing after me, shouting my name. I ran to the front of my house and stopped to catch my breath, letting Rose and Isabella catch up to me. "What's wrong with you!?" Rose demanded, as Bella looked at me concerned, "I'll tell you once we're in my room." They both exchanged strange looks, but nodded.

I quietly opened the front door and peeked in, noticing my father was looking directly at me, "Where have you all been?" He asked calmly, "We were just having a walk, star gazing as well." I lied to him, I never liked lying to my father because I was very close to him, the same with my mother. "Very well. It's getting late, why don't you all go to up to your room and get ready for bed?" He asked, more so told us as he stood, brushing off his shirt. My father owned a bakery, a long with my mother. He was kind, gentle, and never got mad at me. Although, if he learned of the previous events, he would be extremely disappointed and mad. But other than that, he was always calm.

Rose, Isabella, and I went up to my room, sitting on my bed. "Okay, now tell us why you ran like a mad woman back here?" Rose asked, crossing her arms giving me a look. "Well, I was standing in the forest waiting for the time to be up. Around the five minute count down, I started hearing twigs snap. I looked around and didn't notice anything, so I continued to make my way to the opening-",I was cut off by Rose, "Please do not tell me this ends with you running from a simple forest animal." She said, "It doesn't, now let me finish. I saw a figure near a tree that was close to me. I could make out that it was a human, but I couldn't tell if it was a boy or a girl because of the hair.. it was kind of long. But that's when I asked if I could come out." Rose rolled her eyes and scoffed, clapping. "I love your little spook stories. They're very well detailed." She grinned. Isabella looked uneasy though, "Rose.. I don't think this is an Elizabeth Anne spook story." She said. "Oh please. I'm sure it is." Rose shot back, "No, it isn't! Please believe me." I begged, started to not believe myself as well. "What if it was a Lost Boy?" Bella said, staring out my window which had a perfect view of the opening in the forest, "I've told you they don't exist! So has Elizabeth!" Rose exclaimed.

Right as see said that my father walked in, "Time for bed, my ladies. Sleep tight." He smiled at us, bowing like a prince. We all giggled and told him goodnight, watching him shut the door and hearing him walk away. "Now, to clear this up, it was probably your mind getting to you." Rose said, crawling under the blanket. "Actually.. You're probably right." I agreed, Isabella hesitantly nodded in agreement.

We all got settled in, blowing out the candles before drifting to sleep.
