Into the forestInto the forest,
The little bird sang,
Into the forestInto the forest,
Let's play a little game.

I woke up early in the morning, looking over at Rose and Isabella. They were both fast asleep still, which was not very surprising. I got out of my bed silently, walking out and down the stairs to the kitchen. As I entered, I saw my mother cooking breakfast, "Hello, other." I smiled and walked up to her, I noticed she had a slight frown on her face, which was unusual knowing that she was a huge morning person. "Hello, darling." She said with a small smile, "Are you okay?" I asked, setting a hand on her shoulder gently. "Yes, my dear. I'm fine. Did you not hear the news?", I stared at her in confusion, "No, I just woke up. What's going on?" I moved my hand to my side. "The Lancer's son, Johnny, disappeared into the forest early this morning." She sighed, "What a shame. They found his body though, lying in a small creek. Must've drown, that boy." She said, putting the eggs on the skillet, "Oh.. That is such a shame." I said, my mind wondering off as my father walked in, carrying a basket of bread, "Ah, Elizabeth! You're awake. Go up and wake Rose and Isabella, right after breakfast their parents will be here to get them." He explained, setting the bread on the table. I obeyed, and headed up to my room.

I opened the door quietly, walking over to the two sleeping girls. "Rose, Isabella!" I said loudly, seeing them each move the slightest bit in their sleep. I got my brush and started hitting my bed post with it, "Rosalie! Isabella! Get up!" I shouted, laughing in amusement as they both shot up, looking around frightened. "What's going on?!" Rose asked, "Huh? Oh! Elizabeth! Why'd you do that?" Isabella asked, glaring daggers into my soul. "It's time to wake up, and get dressed! It's almost time for breakfast and father said that afterwards both your parents would be here to get you." I said and sat my brush down. They both got up, changing into their clothes and brushed their hair.

While they got ready, I went off to the bathroom, bathing quickly before changing into a white dress and brushing out my hair, slipping into my shoes. Right as I walked out, my father peeked in, "Breakfast is ready, my dears." He smiled and walked downstairs. We all followed after, sitting in our seats looking hungrily at the food. My mother had made a simple breakfast, consisting of buttered bread, ham, and eggs. When mother sat down, we all dug into our food, eating and chatting away.

After Rose and Isabella's parents left, I walked back up to my room, lying on my little reading spot in the window. The sun was shining in, but not to much as to be hot or blinding. As I laid there, my mind drifted back off into the subject of the Lancer boy. Mother said he must've drown in the creek, but he was only a few years younger than me. I was 17,on the brink of 18 and he was 15. I don't believe that he could drown all by himself. He was a smart boy, very witty. Unless.. he could've been running from something and tripped, knocking himself in the head causing himself to pass out in the creek? I don't know. I decided to put the subject aside and looked out the window. Just then, a beautiful blue jay flew past my window, doing little tricks in the sky. I watched, smiling to myself as it seemed to be performing a show for me personally. The little bird soon started flying off towards the forest, where it probably had a nest. I watched as it disappeared into the opening, out of sight. I was about to look away ,but something caught my eye. "What is that?", I asked myself, squinting to see better. Directly a few feet from the opening, inside the forest, was a boy. He was looking directly at me, or at least my window. I couldn't see much detail, but from what I could see, he had slightly long brown hair and a hat, wearing rather fancy, yet torn clothes. Questions started pouring through my head, who was this boy? Why was he staring up at my window? Why is he in the forest? Then I thought came to my mind, "What if he was the figure from last night?", I quickly glanced back to where he was, only to see him gone.

I sat back, wondering who he could've been, and if he was the figure. But, I had never seen him around town before, and his clothes looked rather old. Like he borrowed them from his grandfather from when he was a young boy. They were torn, slightly dusty, yet they looked like a pirates outfit. I decided to let it go, getting off the window bed, or what ever you would call it, and laid on my bed. After a while, I decided to take a nap. The thoughts of the boy still deep in my mind after I drifted off.
