The bell rang for lunch, the first four hour were basically hell for me. People were whispering about me, Alex, and Elizabeth. I walked to the library, I didn't eat lunch, and instead studied, or read. Maybe I'd help the library teacher, but I was stopped by Elizabeth. "Want to eat lunch with me?" she asked me, her blue eyes looking at me with such innocence if only. I almost forgot about earlier, when I asked about her pasted she seemed not to like that.
"Nah. I thought I'd hang in the library." I shrugged.
"Come on!" Elizabeth begged, pouty her pink lips, and making her blue eyes big. I sighed, and decided.
"Fine." I said, she laughed, and dragged me to the caferatier. I've never been in there, she dragged me to a round table, that was empty. But was soon filled with many people, Alex, and other people I didn't know. They all sat there, I left the conversation that was happening at the table. I was thinking about my day, this day was pretty messed up. I cried once today, and I shoved pretty hard into the lockers. Which reminded me, that I might have a bruise on my shoulder, and lower back.
"Karrie." Elizabeth said, I looked over at her, and I still couldn't believe that I was friends with this beautiful girl. I'd always seen her in the hallways, and always dreamed of being her friend. She was always pretty. "So this Friday, Cassie is throwing a party, and wanted to know if you wanted to come?" she asked me, I looked over her features, and looked at Cassie. Then back at Elizabeth, is she serious?
"Um, sure." I said. I heard people clap, I saw Elizabeth smirk, and put a fry into her mouth. I smiled down at the table, and checked myself out. The bell rang, I jumped up, and started to walk fast.
"Hey!" I heard someone shout, "Slow down!" Elizabeth shouted, running up to me. "Gez, didn't like lunch I'm guessing?"
"I didn't even speak." I said.
"Well at least you got invited to a party. And you will be going, and wearing whatever I make you wear. Understand?" Elizabeth asked.
"Sure whatever." I shrugged, "See you at home." I said, walking off to my next period, and hoping to hopefully forget about lunch. I don't know why I forgot, but in walked Alex, and he winked at me. Before sitting by me.
"So you are going to Cassie's party?" he asked.
"I guess." I shrugged, getting out my notebook.
"Good. I hope to see you there." he whispered, his hot breath tickling my exposed neck. I shivered. "Are you cold?" Alex asked, noticing my shiver.
"A little." I lied. I heard some shuffling, and saw Alex taking off his sweater, and handing it to me. I took it, and put it over my head. It smelt like him, I could've died happy right there. "Thanks." I mumbled, Alex's hand going over the fabric.
"I like this on you." he smiled. I didn't answer, instead the bell rang, and I focused on class. Hoping to get though this day, without dying of a panic attack, or of a heart attack. The bell rang, class ending. I started to take off the sweater, when he stopped me. "Keep it, you can return to me at the party." he winked, walking out.
"Was Alex just speaking to you? Is that his sweater?" some random girl asked. I blushed.
"Yes." I said, walking out of class, and running to my next class. One more class, Alex wasn't in this class, and I was grateful. I sat in class, working on my work, and then the bell rang. I jumped up, running outside, and feeling the heat. Damn it, I thought. I ran to Elizabeth's car, stopping when I saw her walking out, and putting a cigarette into her mouth. She walked up to me.
"Ready?" she asked, I nodded my head. She stopped, noticing my sweater. Taking out her cigarette, "Is that Alex's sweater?" Elizabeth asked.
I blushed again, "Yeah." Elizabeth smiled, getting into the car, and buckled up. Which was safe, condersiding her drug use, and her smoking. She started up the car, blaring a rap song, and we sped out of the parking lot. For the first day of having her as a sister, wasn't that bad. I have to lie to my dad, about the drugs. People were watching us as we drove by, I still shook with fear, and terror. But Elizabeth had smiled at me, making me a little more comfortable. We pulled up to the gas station, Elizabeth got out, and started to pump the gas. I got out, "Elizabeth." I started, she looked at me, "You're a really cool chick." I smiled, Elizabeth chuckled, and laid her head against the car. "What?" I asked.
"Nothing." she smiled my way, "Thank you. No one's ever said to me before." Elizabeth smiled, turning her back to me. I could've swear, I saw a tear roll down her cheek. But I wasn't for sure, because she was already in the building to pay for the gas. I sat in the car, I messed around with Elizabeth's phone. I froze on a picture, it was a younger Elizabeth, and a man who looked like her father. She looked innocent. I wonder what happened to her, as I starred at the photo, but my thoughts stopped when I heard her open her door. Elizabeth caught what I was looking at, "What the fuck do you think your doing?" she almost yelled, I dropped her phone, and she caught it. Looking at the photo, "Don't ever fucking touch my phone, got it?" her voice hissing at me.
"I'm sorry." I whispered. Elizabeth took in a deep, before looking at me, and smiling.
"I'm sorry, it's just that I'm sensitive about this." she looked at the photo, I nodded my head, and I understood. If that is her dad, then I would understand. I wouldn't someone looking at photo's of me, and my mom. Out of nowhere, she hugged me, and tight. Then pulled away, we starred at each other, "Awkward." Elizabeth laughed. "Let's go home." she started up the car, and drove off. I looked out the window, we pulled up to the house a few minutes later, and I quickly got out.
I walked inside, my dad wasn't home, at work, and my step mom wasn't home. "Where is your mom?" I asked.
"Probably out drinking with her new friends." Elizabeth rolled her eyes, shutting the door, and falling onto the couch. "What a hellish day!" she breathed, I laughed, and set my bag down. Before sitting on the love seat. Elizabeth jumped up, looking at me. "So that is Alex's sweater?" she teased.
"Yes." I blushed.
"Damn." Elizabeth smiled at me, "So did he say anything about Cassie's party?" she asked.
"Uh just that he hopes to see me there, and that I can return it to him at the party." I shrugged.
"The sweater.." Elizabeth smirked, "Bitch, you have to come! Alex want's you to come!" I laughed, and blushed deeper. "Do you like Alex?" she asked.
"Duh." I smirked.
"Would you fuck him?" she asked, I looked at her wide eyed, and thought. Would I fuck Alex if I had the chance? My mind was racing, before my mouth spoke.
"Yeah." I blushed, the word coming out of my mouth felt dirty, and I sort of felt like I sold my soul to the devil by answering.
"Holy shit!" Elizabeth laughed, falling back to the couch. "You dirty whore!"
I gasped, "I'm not a bad word!"
"Just say it. Say shit." Elizabeth demanded.
"No." I said.
"Come on!" Elizabeth said, "Please!" she begged me. I rolled my eyes, and sat back.
"No." I said again.
"Do it for Alex! He'll want to hear you a bunch of curse words during sex." Elizabeth winked.
"Ugh!" I sighed, looking around, and hoping Marina is asleep, or out. "Shit." I whispered.
"Say it louder. I can't hear you." Elizabeth teased, getting closer.
"Shit." I said a little louder.
"Still can't hear you!" Elizabeth shouted.
"Shit! Shit! Shit!" I shouted, Elizabeth fell to the ground laughing, and shaking her head.
"You say it so weird!" she gasped for air, I kicked her gently, and started to laugh along with her. We just sat there laughing, before she sat up, and smirked my way. "I've brought something." she reached into her pocket, pulling out a white substance, and I knew what it was cocaine. I gasped.
"Put that away!" I said.
"No ones here. Come on, do at least one row with me." Elizabeth begged.
"Oh no!" I said, standing up. "You can't make me do that." I said, looking at her. She got up, and neared me. Putting her arm on my forearm, and frowning.
"There's going to be a lot of things at that party, but you need to know how to do these things before we go out on Friday." Elizabeth said, her voice gentle, and kind. I shook my head, my eyes still on the little baggy on the table.
"I'm sorry, if I go to this party I won't be doing any drugs." I said, walking away, and up to my room. I didn't hear Elizabeth say anything, but a simple sigh, and I shut my door. This was getting hard to say no, she seemed to know what she was doing, but yet I knew if I did this I might not be myself, and I couldn't afford that.
