I remember the day I meant my step-sister, it was a Friday night, and I was very nervous. I decided to pull my hair up, skipped makeup, and went natural. I put on my favorite blue dress, that hung above my knee's, and looked once more in the mirror. I smiled at my reflection, I ran downstairs, and into the living room. My dad was sitting on the couch, reading the newspaper, and dressed in a nice suit, and tie. "Are you ready?" he asked, as I stepped into the room.
"Yes." I answered, my voice shaky. He stood up, nearing me, and hugging me.
"You'll do fine. I'm sure her daughter will like you." he smiled down at me, I've meant my dad's new fiancé a couple times, and I can't wait to be her step-daughter. But I haven't meant her daughter yet, because when we visited them, she was always gone, or out. "I'm going to see how dinner is coming along, Marina isn't happy about this." my dad smirked, Marina is our maid, and she basically raised me when my dad was busy. I laughed as he walked to the kitchen, the sun was setting in Las Vegas, and it was a dry day. I decided to go outside, I opened up the door, and walked out.
It was dry, but with a little breeze blowing though my blond hair. I shut my eyes, smiling at the cool wind hit my face, and slowly it became dark. "Karrie! There almost here, come in here!" he shouted, I sighed, and ran inside. Seeing my dad fixing his tie, I spotted Marina who was walking passed us, I gave her a scared smile. I heard tires squeal, and I saw the dust go up. And headlights shining though the front windows, I neared the door, and stood close to my father. His arm wrapping around my shoulder, he kissed my hair once more, and waited for them.
"Elizabeth! Put that out!" I heard my step mom shout. I didn't hear anything, but there was a knock on the door. My dad answered quickly, there stood my step mom. She was very pretty, blue eyes, and blond hair. Tan skin, she has a nice smile, and I couldn't wait to be her step daughter. "Hi." she smiled at me, then kissed my father's cheek. Moving out from in front of her daughter, "This is Elizabeth." I looked at her, she was very pretty. She had bright blue eyes, dark long hair, and wasn't dressed as nice as me, or my father, or her mother.
"Do you guys have something to drink? I prefer whiskey." she smiled. Her mother froze, before laughing, and shaking her head.
"She's kidding." she laughed, Elizabeth rolled her eyes, and leaned against the door. Not really looking my way, instead at my house, and smiled.
"Can I see my room?" she spoke up, my father laughed, and shook his head.
"Sure, Karrie can you show Elizabeth her room please?" he asked, looking to me, and giving my an engorging smile. I nodded my head, walking away, and I heard her walking behind me.
"So Karrie right?" Elizabeth asked.
"Yep." I smiled. "My mom named me."
"Cool. Where is my room? Down here?" she asked.
"No Marina sleeps down here." I said.
"Who?"
"Our maid."
"You guys have a maid?" Elizabeth asked.
"Uh yeah." I said, nearing the stairs, and walking up them. When we came up to area with my room, and my dad's room. "This is my room." I said, Elizabeth looked around, shaking her head, and digging into her pockets. Pulling out a container. It was cigarettes. I froze, seeing them, she noticed me, and smiled.
"Do you mind if I smoke? Do you want one?" she asked, putting one in her mouth, and obisivly not caring if I said no, or not. Without me answering, she lit it, and inhaled her first smoke. "So my room now.." her voice fading, I shook my head, and walked up another flight of stairs. Into a fairly large room, I didn't want it, and I thought she might like it. "Wow, three floors up. That's going to be hard to sneak out."
