"What's wrong?" Farrah asked me.

She was my best and only friend. I didn't know what it was about me that people didn't seem to like but ever since I came into high school, all my old "friends" from middle school didn't really talk to me. We sat in the cafe watching the girls twerk on the tables to Juicy J. This was a regular thing and the teachers, eventually stopped trying to ask them to stop because they'd be back at it the second someone turned their head.

"Nothing. I'm just wondering, why aren't we cool? I mean, we're pretty right?" I asked.

"Of course we are." She laughed. "We are cool. We're smart, and one day we'll be making a lot of money, and these twerkers will be someone's babymama." She giggled.

I smiled, Farrah always made my day and made me feel better about myself.

"Look who's coming." Farrah said.

I looked to my left and Trystan was strolling towards us.

"Oh God, you think he's coming over here?" I asked, patting my hair.

"Probably. I hope he doesn't do what he did last time." She rolled her eyes.

On Friday,  he accidently flipped my chilly onto me, but he said it was a mistake. I was embarrassed but, he spoke to me, and that's all I really cared about.

"Wassup Macy?" He smiled as he took a seat with his best friend, Marcus.

"Hi Trystan." I said softly.

"It's Maliyah." Farrah scoffed.

"My bad, shawty. No need to get all worked up." He smirked.

I felt like I was going to pass out, he was so cute.

"Anyways, I heard you smart in this biology shit..I was wondering if you can tutor me?" He asked.

"Uh, uhm, yeah, of course, sure." I giggled.

"Great. So I'll swing by your place this weekend or whatever, you can just text me your address." He passed me his phone to put my number in.

"Oh, um, I don't have a cellphone." I blushed.

His friend looked at him and they both started dying of laughter. I blushed with embarrassment and looked down at my food. I felt a knot form in my throat, I was embarrassed and it felt like crying. It wouldn't be the first time I was made fun of, or laughed at.

"It's alright ma, just write it down and I'll swing by."  He shrugged.

I took out my notebook and wrote it down, passing it to him. I knew my dad would be out in New York this weekend, so it was perfect.

"Alright..see you Saturday around 5." He said, getting up.

"That was so embarrassing. I wish I could have a cellphone!" I fumed, "I hate my dad sometimes."

"He's just avoiding you being all crazy, you don't even need a cellphone. You really only talk to me." She said.

"Ouch."

"I mean, I'm with you 24/7 anyways." She tried to lighten the statement but it didn't help.

The bell was going to ring in 5 minutes, and I didn't feel like being around Farrah anymore.

"I'm going for a walk." I told her, getting up.

She got up to go with me, "Alone." I barked at her before turning to walk away. She frowned and sat back down.
