"Len and I are going on a date after class," I whispered excitedly.

Akita Neru scoffed and said, "Don't be so sure."

"What's that supposed to mean, Neru-chan?" Teto asked, mirroring my thoughts.

"Len asks out everyone, but the dates, if you want to call them that, never lead to anything."

She sounded bitter, and I had to wonder if she had been asked out by him earlier too. Everyone knew that she had a major crush on him, and I felt bad that I was going out wit someone that she clearly loves... But, I loved him too. And I have a right to go after what I want.

"That's not true, Neru-chan," Haku said calmly, her voice soft and sweet.

"Yes it is, and you know it. He even asked you out."

"W-well yes... I think he's just confused. Emotions are difficult to adjust to, you know that."

Neru only rolled her eyes and asked, "So where are you and Kagamine going?"

'Kagamine... She must really be upset. While, never to his face, she's always called him Len-kun.'

"Oh... Uh... I'm not really sure. He didn't say."

"He didn't say? That's weird," Teto commented, "when he asked me he told me the date in a very detailed manner. 'We leave at eight, dinner at eight thirty, karaoke at nine.'"

"We went to a small bar," Haku said absentmindedly, and Neru became more upset.

"Not only does he ask out every girl, but he's willing to take them to bars too? He's so not as cool as you guys make him out to be. Sounds like a bad influence to me. Nothing but heartache."

"You don't mean that, Neru," Haku answered soothingly, "what did you and Len do when you two went out?"

"W-when we went out?" Neru  asked, her face growing slightly pink.

Teto, Haku, and I nodded furiously, eager to hear when the golden haired girl was hiding.

"He... It doesn't matter," she snapped, ending the conversation.

Haku seemed upset, but Neru stood her ground and didn't tell us a word about her date with Len.

'Neru, Teto, and Haku... Is what Neru said about Len actually true? Is he really just going through every girl in school? No... He couldn't be. After all he came up to me, his face red, and handed me the note.'

"How did he ask you guys out?"

"He just came up to me and asked. It wasn't anything special though, it was like he was just asking to hang out as friends or something, which is what it turned out being," Haku said quietly, "And afterwards, he went through me to ask Neru, cause she was too shy to let him near her."

"B-baka! I was not too shy!"

We giggled, and Teto said, "He asked me out by text."

Smiling to myself, I pulled out the note that Len had given me.

I just wanted to let you know that I really like you, and I have for awhile. You're beautiful, and kind, and I even wrote a song about you. I'd love to sing it for you, maybe tonight? Meet up with me after class and we can go out on a date. I'll sing you the song I made for you then. Have a good day, I can't wait to see you tonight.

It was such a cute gesture, especially since no one really wrote love letters anymore. He won me over the second he handed it to me. And I though I had loved him before I read his words.

Our conversation ended as the bell rang, and I hurried to pack all of my things away. A minute passed, and I ran out the door as soon as I could. Len was waiting for me outside, and I walked up to him, a little out of breath.

"Hi," he said, sounding a little strange.

"Hi Len-kun, something wrong?"

"I just didn't think you'd really come. You must have heard about my record."

"You mean the one where you've asked out every girl in the school? I was feeling left out until earlier today," I teased, and immediately regretted it as he shifted uncomfortably when I said it.

"I haven't asked out all of the girls," he said quietly, managing to look even more cute than before.

I smiled up at him and asked, "So what are we doing?"

"I... Actually didn't think about that part very much. To be honest, I didn't know I was asking you out until when I did. I heard another guy say he was going to ask you out, and well, I freaked. I didn't want to lose my chance, but I couldn't find the words to say, and so I wrote them or and gave them to you instead. And well, here we are."

His rushed words made my heart swell, and I couldn't help but hugging him, no matter what Neru said, he would always be perfect.

I felt his arms wrap around me, until he pulled away.

"What's wrong?"

"I don't want you thinking that I'm asking you out just so you can be part of the collection or whatever."

"Well it doesn't sound good when you call them a collection."

"Fair enough, but you're special. I really like you."

"Maybe... Maybe you should think about that before asking out other people. Because I can guarantee that you asked out someone who's in love with you, and I'm sure she's hurting very much."

"Are you talking about Akita-san?"

I nodded, hoping Neru wasn't around anywhere.

He sighed and said, "I did like her when I asked her. But our date was awkward, she didn't talk and was on her phone the whole time. I think she was texting Haku."

"Oh... D-do you like her still?" I asked, afraid of the answer.

"I like you now," he said, looking into my eyes.

"I believe you."

My words were instinct, I couldn't betray my feelings. They'd come pouring out each time Len looked at me with his dreamy blue green eyes.

"Do you like me to?" Len asked, looking embarrassed.

"Yes!"

"I believe you."

He smiled, I smiled, and then we kissed.

All in all, it was a pretty good way to start off a first date.
