Fern's POV: As we were walking Maple started to sniff every flower we walked pass. Though there was one specific flower that had a lot of pollen on it. 'Sniff sniff'.... "Aaaccchhhooo!!!!!!" Sneezed Maple and there was a huge cloud of pollen surrounding her. "Maple? Are you ok?" I asked "...um..yes...maybe...no.." she whispered. "Are you hurt?!" I screamed with worry. "Yes but...." As she came into view my eyes widened. She was in human form and by the looks of it, it was her first time changing. She looked absolutely adorable. I noticed her shaking and slightly wobbling on her feet. "Mama!!!" Maple said with tears brimming her eyes. I quickly run over to her and comfort her. "Shh it's alright, I can do it too." I say calmly while transforming into my human form. "Is this normal mama?" Maple says still a little shaken up. "Perfectly normal and you look very adorable too!" I say with a smile. Maple blushes and lifts up her arms signaling to be held. "Mama...im getting tired mama." Maple said quietly. "Alright...let's head back ok?" I said. As we were heading back, I totally forgot that we were still in human form. I noticed that Greyson was outside the den glaring daggers at me and even growling too. "Who are you and where did yo-....Fern?" Greyson said. "Yes it's me...Maple just found out her human form and she's too tired to change back.." I say timidly. I've never heard him growl before...at me that is. "Very well then head on inside...I have to patrol our territory." He said. I quickly nod and make my way into the den and everyone starts laughing at me while saying "wow I told you she would be hideous in her human form!!" and some even say "even her 'child' is prettier than her!!". I quickly fast walk to my corner of the den ,which is at the very back. When I made it I hurriedly pushed the leaves in a pile and lay down with Maple in it. Many wolves thought it was weird to bring in leaves but I hate sleeping down on the hard floor of the den. I get comfortable and start to doze off thinking of one specific animal that made me feel joy and motherhood for the first time...'Maple...we just met but...im glad to call you my daughter.'
Greyson's POV: When arrive at the den it was almost midnight. I crept inside making sure not to wake up anyone. I look over to the way back of the den and see Fern with the little fawn sleeping peacefully. Unbeknownst me, a smile graced my lips but I quickly replaced it with a grimace. 'You have to admit...she does look stunning in her human form...NO she is ugly and is NOT worth my time!!!' I quickly turn away and head to my parents side of the den and lay down next to my old man. As I drift off to sleep I think 'She is NOT worth my time...right?'
