Mackenzie's POV

I did stay at the studio. I don't really know why but I kept dancing there. I made sure to keep quiet when Kate was yelling at me so that she didn't kick me out. We were heading to another competition and I saw a group of people that I never wanted to see ever again.

"Hey Mack, I didn't think that I would ever see you again," the leader said.

I could remember exactly what he looked like. He had short dark hair and green eyes with gold flecks that sparkled when he laughed or smiled. He was fit from years of dancing and was almost a foot taller than me. He had darker skin from his Spanish background.

"I can't say that I wanted to see you either, Jack," I snapped.

Jack and the rest of the group are dancers at Studio Broadway, the studio that I used to dance before Superstar. I didn't leave the dance team on good terms with them.

"Oh Mack, we know that you love us," Jack cooed.

I shook my head. I didn't want to talk to him.

"Come on Mack, it will be just like old times."

I saw lots of memories of me and Jack and it made me want to be sick. He noticed this and put a hand on my shoulder. This was the last straw and I ran away from everyone and into the bathroom.

I ran into the first open stall and shut the door. I sat down on the floor and threw up. The floor was cold and I was starting to calm down. I couldn't believe that just seeing him freaked me out that much.

I stood up and walked to the sinks. I splashed water on my face before heading back out to join the team. Chloe looked up when I walked in and she smirked at me.

"Little Mackenzie is scared of a boy," she teased.

The other four laughed at me. I glanced at Skylar. I thought that we were better friends than that. I glanced between the others and realised something. Skylar was in love with Chloe. I could understand why because she is pretty and completely in control. I can't believe I was stupid enough to think that he might like me.

I glanced at Chloe. Of course she knew that Skylar liked her. She knew that guys would like her and she played him. Personally I think that she likes Carson and I know that he likes her because it is really obvious.

There was a reason that I hid from all of this. I didn't want to deal with the love triangles and now I was stuck in one. I was extremely distracted as we started to prepare for the group dance. For once it was first.

Chloe was smirking at me the whole time that she was changing. When I walked past her she would tease me about the incident in the hallway. Telling me that I was stupid and afraid. I was so close to crying and breaking down in the middle of the room.

I wanted Shawn and Mia here. They always knew what to say and I told them everything. I glanced at Skylar and he was staring at me. He had his light brown hair pushed up from this forehead. He looked really cute and I couldn't lie about that.

He looked away and I could see that his eyes immediately moved over to Chloe. I knew what unrequited love looked like. I saw Shawn go through it every day. I wanted Shawn to be here so that I didn't break down. I loved to dance and this is what I want to do for my whole life.

We had an hour before the dance so I called Shawn. He answered luckily and I told him everything that had happened. Except the realization I had had about Skylar, Chloe and Carson. That wasn't something that I wanted to talk to him about. Especially when he liked the idea of me dating someone especially Skylar.

Shawn wasn't pleased to hear that Jack was still a cocky as ever. I had to hang up on him and head to the side of the stage before we started to dance. Chloe would give up on the whole thing with Jack but she wouldn't.

I considered hitting her but then we got told that we are the next number on. I was in the back row of this dance like normal. I thought that we performed well but Jack and the rest of Studio Broadway were laughing.

"You will never beat us," Jack teased.

I rolled my eyes and we all walked away. The awards show started and we won the group title, beating Studio Broadway. I didn't even care that Chloe won her solo.

Shawn was at my house when I got there. He was sitting in the dance studio and playing on his phone. He looked up when he heard me come in and he gave me a hug.

"Are you alright?" he asked.

I nodded but he couldn't see that.

"Yeah, I feel like dancing," I said.

He started a song playing and I started to dance. So did Shawn and I can tell you that Shawn is not a dancer of any kind. He kept falling over but I though I think he was being dramatic. The song changed to a slower one and we pretended to slow dance together.

It was good to be dancing without the pressures of having to remember a dance or being trying to prove myself. Shawn and I must have spent half an hour being stupid before Mom came down and started laughing at us.

"You look crazy," she said between laughs.

Shawn and I smiled at her. She told us that there was food upstairs and we quickly headed upstairs and we all sat around the table to eat.

"Did Kenzie tell you that she saw Jack today?" Shawn asked Mom.

I hadn't told Mom the whole story surrounding Jack and Studio Broadway but I had to tell her something because else she wouldn't let me leave the studio.

"Really, are you alright?" she asked.

"I'm fine Mom," I told her.

I wasn't fine. I was lying to her and Shawn about it. Seeing him had shaken me up and I was worried that I was going to see him again.
