Riley's POV
I traced circles on Maya's leg as she painted my nails on my right hand (right handed struggle).
"Are you almost done?" I whined. Maya giggled and squeezed my hand as she steadied it again. "Yes Riley." She sighed. My eyes flitted back-and-forth from Maya's eyes to her lips, then to my hand. She's so adorable when she's concentrating. Maya looked up at me and smiled, "You're cute." I blushed a dark shade of red. She bit her lip, and brought her leg up and rested her chin on her knee. Our faces were only inches apart. I've kissed Maya a few times, and we flirt all the time, but this was different. We both know how we feel about each other, but I don't know what this is. "Come here." She whispered. I leaned in closer, my heart was beating so fast but everything else was in slow motion. I pecked her lips, and pulled away reluctantly. "I want a kiss, pleasee." Maya stuck out her bottom lip and used her puppy dog eyes. I smiled so big it hurt, and leaned in again. Our lips crashed together and I felt Maya's hand on my cheek. Our lips moved in perfect sync, and everything was fireworks and perfectness. Ugh. I took Maya's hand in mine and put it over my heart. I pulled away, "Do you feel this?" Her face lit up and I looked straight into her loving eyes. "Do you see what you do to me?" I smiled. I couldn't get emotional but I just love this girl so much. "Y-Your heart is beating so fast." She grinned from ear to ear. "Honey..." She looked up at me and tackled me I almost fell off of my bed. She was laughing and I was still trying to get myself together. She pulled me into her embrace, snaking her arms around my waist and burying her face into my neck, kissing it. "I love you so much Riley Matthews." She stated. I waited until her breathing was steady. "I love you too Maya Hart... What is this?"
"What do you mean?" She asked, confused and looking slightly hurt. I felt her tighten her grip around me, as if I was leaving.
"No Peaches, I mean what are we?"
She relaxed and so did I.
"Whatever you want us to be." She smiled.
"Well..." I lifted her chin with my hand, "I want us to be together."
"Together together?" She asked, wide eyed, "Like actually together with Riley Matthews? That one beautiful, dorky, funny, adorable brunette I see in the hallways? Her?! You've got be kidding, she's too good for me." She said, still cuddling with me. I giggled. "Yes."
"I don't know, I'll think about it." She said. "Wait-" I started. I could've sworn she was being serious.
"Okay yes." She said quickly, and laughed.
"Yes!" I said, barely above a whisper.
"Promise me one thing," Maya said. "Anything."
"Forever?"
"Why not?" I smiled and kissed her cheek.
