*Luke's POV*
I was shocked by Calum's text last night. He was apologizing? To me? It didn't seem real. This seemed as if I was simply imagining it, just a figment of my imagination. Despite that, it made me happy to see someone care, or at least pretend to care about my feelings. I would take fake concern over none, how pathetic.
I wake up to the clicking sound of my door opening. Jack enters my room and sits on the edge of my bed, making it dip down slightly.
"You going to get ready?" He asks me as I rub the sleep out of my eyes.
"Yeah, I guess I have to," I mumble softly and stand up from my bed.
"I'll be waiting downstairs," Jack replies and ruffles my hair which makes me glare evilly at him. All he does is laugh in return. He strides to the door and closes it behind him with a thud as he exists.
I get dressed in a gray T-shirt and black skinny jeans accompanied by gray VANS. It's not the most colorful of all outfits, but it'll do. I go into the bathroom and wash my face off. I brush my teeth and kind of fix my hair. I basically just ruffle it around until it looks wind blown and perfectly messy.
When I'm finally finished, I head downstairs to meet Jack who is perched on the kitchen counter.
"I'm ready," I announce as I enter the room.
"About time!" Jack exclaims and hops off the counter.
"I only took ten minutes, Jack," I sigh and then chuckle.
"I'm impatient!" He yells out.
"Obviously," I laugh.
"Alright, Lucas let's get you to school," Jack motions for me to follow him out the door. I roll my eyes in disgust at the name.
"Ugh, I hate when you call me Lucas!" I complain loudly. Jack and I walk towards his reasonably sized car. He unlocks the vehicle and leaps inside.
"Yeah, that's why I do it," he chuckles as he starts up the car.
"I miss it though," I admit with slight depression in my voice. "I miss you and Ben annoying me and I just miss you guys in general."
"I miss you too Luke," Jack says honestly.
I nod and Jack drives off towards my second hell. The day is absolutely beautiful. The sky is painted bright blues that mirror the ocean's waves, but yellow the color of honey hints at the horizon. It's like a reminder that the sun is still fairly new to the sky today. I can't help but want to gaze at the vast colors of the heavens. Sadly, I'm forced back into reality when the car stops in the school parking lot. I get out of the car, muttering a quick goodbye to Jack, and head in the building. I'm somewhat early, not many people are lingering in the school. I start briskly walking to my locker when suddenly someone grabs me from behind, startling me but then it registers in my brain on what is about to happen.
And so the hell begins.
*Michael's POV*
Bam. Bam. Bam!
I finish colliding my fist against Luke's fragile chest, making sure to escalate the power of the punches each time I draw back.
Ashton quietly stands by, a evil smirk plastered on his face. I motion for him to take his 'turn' as we call it. Ashton yanks Luke up by his blond mess of hair and kicks his knees, causing him to lose balance. He then lets go and allows for Luke to cripple to the ground.
We laugh and high-five. Both of us are proud of our work. We take off through the halls to get to our class. I picked up Ashton early today so we could beat up Luke and still be on time for first period. Obviously, we didn't ask Calum along.
