Chapter 4: The Final Ingredient

[ Brandon's POV ]

Brandon walked softly down the hall, not making a sound. His cloak bustled about him as he stormed past a group of cackling girls. They looked at him as he passed by, confused at his determined expression.

Brandon was on a mission. He had to find the last ingredient for his ultimate love potion! He knew exactly where it was but had to be veeery careful when retrieving it.

The final ingredient was a rare herb found only in the Potion Master's stash. Brandon thought of a plan and immediately got to work. He called over two of his friends from potion class and told them what to do.

Darien smiled and gave his buddy a thumbs up. He walked over to the Professor and told him that he needed an herb for a project. Of course, the Professor agreed and opened the door to the herb pantry.

Just before he could go inside to get the herb, a fight broke out down the hallway. Typi, Brandon's other friend, had pulled a fake fight and was now wrestling another guy to the ground.

The Professor immediately ran over to stop the fight. Brandon seized the opportunity to quickly grab the herb from the pantry and ran down the hall.

He laughed as he went back to the bathroom. He had done it! My love potion is almost done! All I have to do is-

Suddenly, Brandon felt himself being pushed back by a small force. His eyes opened wide as he realized that he had ran into someone.

"S-Sorry! Didn't see you there!"

"It's alri-"

I'd know that voice anywhere.....

Brandon looked down to see his darling Jaden looking back up at him, his mouth partially open. His cheeks were a light pink.

"I....I....ummm...."

W-was he blushing? Brandon quickly snapped out of his daze.

"Sorry. I should have been more careful. Are you okay?"

"Y-yes, im quite alright..." Jaden replied sheepishly.

Brandon just stood there, twiddling his thumbs. Jaden looked down, it seemed as though he was embarrassed.

Brandon coughed, "U-Um....I'll be g-going now....uhh...see you later?"

He quickly took off down the hallway. His cheeks would not stop getting hotter and hotter. How could I say something so stupid? See you later? I'm such an idiot!

When he reached the bathroom his heart was pounding and his cheeks were as red as firetrucks.

Herm looked at him suspiciously.

"What's up? Got caught?"

Brandon quickly lied, "Y-yeah, almost! But I got the stuff..."

He went over to the boiling cauldron and dropped in the herb. He stirred the liquid until it turned a bright shade of red.

"This should do the trick."
