Chapter 6: Coincidence?

(( Jaden's POV ))

I could hardly believe my eyes! Standing in the doorway was my beloved dementor!

My breath caught in my throat and my eyes grew wide. I tried to look away but my eyes were fixed on him. He looked around the room at Chris, Thed, then to me.

His cheeks suddenly burst into a rose color when he saw me. He quickly adverted his eyes and focused on the floor. He said softly,

"U-um....I'm B-Brandon Burnous.."

Chris smiled and went over to Brandon.

"Well, Hiya! My name's Christopher but you can call me Chris!"

He clapped Brandon on the back before pointing over to me. I could feel Brandon's eyes on me and my cheeks felt hot. I tried to say something but couldn't move my lips. All I could do was stare into his piercing blue eyes.

Chris felt the awkward moment and laughed saying,

"Oh! That's Jaden, he's really shy, but he's nice!"

Chris then jumped back onto his bed and laughed, looking at everyone.

"Let's all be friends and have a good time! Who's up for some beans?"

He then pulled a red and white striped box out of his cloak. He held the box up like it was the Holy Grail.

"THE FOOD OF THE GODS!"

He then proceeded to pass everyone the box to grab a handful of the colorful candy beans. Thed looked at the beans in his hand like they could jump up and attack him.

"W-what are these?"

"Those, my new-found friend, are some charmed candy beans! Go ahead, try one~"

Chris's eyebrows wiggled as he watched Thed cautiously pop a blue bean into his mouth.

Thed's eyes went wide as his mouth suddenly made a loud dolphin laugh.

"Eeeeekekekekeke!"

Chris burst out laughing as Thed put his hands over his mouth.

"WHAT THE HELL!?"

His shrill voice cracked as he yelled. He frantically looked at Chris, who was laughing so hard his stomach was hurting.

"Whooooo~! That reaction was PRICELESS!"

Chris's laughter subsided and he wiped a tear from his eye. Thed scowled,

"That was NOT funny! I was scared, Christopher!"

"Dude, chiiiiiill! It's perfectly safe! Watch!"

Chris took a light green colored bean and popped it into his mouth. At once, the only noise his mouth could make we're hissing sounds. Chris was now a hissing snake!

Thed gasped and his sharp green eyes suddenly filled with a child-like excitement, but it was instantly covered up and replaced with his usual gaze. His voice was back to normal.

"Well, that is quite interesting...I-I will try another then....for the sake of...f-friendship..."

He lifted a purple one to his lips and ate it. He began to make croaking sounds.

Brandon smiled, "He's a toad now!"

In the excitement I caught Chris staring at Thed in my peripheral vision. He seemed to be staring fairly intently. His bright brown eyes seemed to be studying Thed as he made more animal sounds. Hmmm....

After Chris and Thed had taken a few more turns, we settled into a rhythm. Each boy sat on his bed and we all went around the circle eating beans and laughing.

Every now and then I would sneak a peek at my darling dementor. I am so happy to finally know his name...Brandon~ I feel like I'm floating on air every time I hear the name~

I am even more excited about this month than I was before. Now I can spend time with him and get to know Brandon, my secret love. Oh it is such a beautiful thing my heart is feeling. I'm on Cloud 9~!
