After having plucked my javelin out of the skull of the wyvern's corpse, I started making my way to another entrance to my underground base, when the I felt something at my feet. The egg. I knelt down, inspecting the egg. It was rather light, which I had not expected from something this size. Picking it up, I cautiously put it in my bag, making sure it wouldn't break with the javelins. Making my way down, the girl behind me, I felt the egg vibrate. It must be a week or so from hatching, damn. Once back down, I lit a fire in the corner of one of the small rooms and put the egg down carefully.
"You brought the egg? It's just going to cause problems!"
I ignored her once again, and went off to arrange rocks so the egg wouldn't fall over. Upon returning to the room, I saw the egg was missing. I looked back to where the girl was standing before, only to see her gone. Checking if she was at her bed, at which she was, I realized something. Fluffy... I started searching for both Fluffy and the egg, only to find Fluffy curled around the egg in the medical room. It struck me at that moment the wyvern would need a reptilian creature of sorts to help it grow. I'd also need to make a room for Fluffy and the egg to be in, where it would be warm and safe. I made my way to where I had tools stored, grabbed a spade, and began working on it.

*a few days later*

The girl had gotten used to the general rules I had for being here. Fluffy and the egg were doing well, the room had proved to be perfect for them. Something was worrying me on the other hand. The last time I travelled outside, I saw smoke billowing in the distance. Now the smoke was closer, and whatever was coming had to be big. The wyvern corpse was still there, yet it had little flesh on it, as I had worked on taking most of it, and then some scavenging animals had taken as much as they could. I was planning on storing the bones later on in an area I had also made, but right now I'd have to make sure the base wasn't clear to the eyes of the impending group. Covering up all tracks, working my way from the outer area inwards, I saw another girl. She looked lost, and I felt pity. I waved my hands, hoping to catch her attention. She however didn't notice, and in that instant I heard something I hadn't heard in ages. A gun shot. The girl screamed and fell to the ground, her arm oozing blood. Having to make a decision, and rather fast, I rushed out of the tunnel I was partially hidden in. Grabbing her by one side, I helped her to her feet.
"Please, save, me."
Her voice started trailing off, her frail body getting weaker. I pushed on and took her downwards. Rushing once again to the medical lab I grabbed some gauze and medical alcohol, and started treating her wound. It'd have to do for now, and the instant she fell unconscious, I left her in care of the first girl. Making my way back up, I saw the smoke was less than a mile away. I quickly erased tracks and started blocking entrances. I then blocked the final entrance, leaving the tunnels in darkness. Feeling my way around, I made it back down to my base.
"What's going on?!"
