Part III

I sat tinkering with some objects that I salvaged from ruins, when I heard feet lightly scrape the floor. I turned to see the girl getting out of the makeshift bed. Getting up, she got worried and started panicking. I signaled her to be calm, and she tried her best to get as far away from me as possible.
"Who are you, and where am I?!"
I stood there with no response, and I took it she understood why. I let her keep a distance away from me, and went back to tinkering. Whilst conjoining two spherical objects, I felt a cold stone touch the back of my neck.
"Now, we can do this either the simple way or the difficult way."
The air tensed around me, and in one swift movement I took her arm and knocked her onto the ground. Taking the dagger from her grip, I made it clear who was the real danger.
"Ah, okay okay! I get it I shouldn't have done that! AH, please let go of me!"
A tear slowly made its way down her face, and I let my grasp on her loose. She scrambled back to the makeshift bed and sat there holding her arm in pain. Walking off to the medical lab I had made, she made a bloodcurdling scream that would attract anything within a mile above ground. Dashing back, I saw her frantically dodging from a continuous spray of creamy blue goo.
"What is it?! It's hideous!"
I put my hand up and the Diabolus Cornua Lacerta took a step back and sat down. A strange creature that had come along with the rest, but I knew this one must have been the outcast as I once was. The tendrils flowing out of it's frill, and the dark shade of red made this creature not only look dangerous, but allowed for incredible stealth amongst the barren wastelands I called home. When threatened it'd shoot out the goo from a special toxin sac in it's jaws. Lucky for me I approached it when still young, that it grew alongside me. This girl however had just met it, and Fluffy didn't take a liking to her.
"Kill the thing! If you don't, then I will!"
I glared at her, only to get the same response. Walking away again, but making sure Fluffy knew she was safe, I went to grab some pills I had developed with some herbs and few supplies I had gotten from massacred groups of wanderers. Taking it back to the girl, I saw she was once again on the bed, but this time cautious as to where my companion was. I walked towards her and gave her the pills. She stared at me, judging as to trust me or not, but took the pills anyway. Swallowing the pills, she sighed in relief as the effects set in rather quickly. Turning around I felt the ground shake, and then a thunderous roar above me.
