"Well? What do you think?" you asked, watching him stand in the dusty room, only illuminated by moonlight.

"Wait, sorry, that's a bit selfish of me to ask," you awkwardly turned back around. "Haha, ignore that, I'm a bit thoughtless."

"It's not completely impossible." Gray slowly said, walking forward to check. He reached his arm over your shoulder, resting it as he plucked the yellowed paper from the board.

"No, no, you should really stay here with your girlfriend." You hurriedly stepped away from him, surprised by the sudden closeness.

"I'll talk to Juvia about it, alright?"

"...you should stay here..."

"You want me to stay?"

"It would be fun if you came, but-"

"Then it's settled," he grinned, arrogantly. "I'll come with you this time."

"You're terrible."

"I know, right?"

You could only chuckle and tuck the parchment under your arm. "I'll get back to you on this, alright? There's no way I can leave this week, sorry, Gray."

"You're scaring me with that injury of yours." He grinned as he walked to the door, and when he noticed you weren't following, he turned.

Healthy, dark blue eyes shone. "C'mon, idiot."

"(Y/N)? I know you're awake."

"...mmm, who's awake?"

"Don't even try me, I can see your open eyes."

"Aren't you supposed to be at work, Deo..." You sat up, slowly, groaning at the brightness of the room. Deo smiled, as he opened the window shades. "I'm here to take care of my injured girlfriend."

"It's bright, Deo, you- just who did you hear that from?" You giggle, nervously, shading your eyes. "I'm not injured, I would have told you if I was!"

"Oh, I would hope so." He raised an eyebrow as he helped you up. "I got a tip from a friend," he gently ruffled your hair; and placing a kiss on the top of your head, before moving to make the bed.

Wrapping your arms around his waist, you closed your eyes with a satisfied smile, and relaxed against his warm back.

"Playing cute won't earn you anything." Deo said, as he bent over, smoothing down the ruffles. You held in a yawn in response.

"Go brush your teeth," he grinned.

"You're secretly mad, aren't you?" You asked, stumbling off. Behind you, Deo sat on the smoothed out bed, wrinkling his nose. "Wait, why..." He hurriedly got up, and sighed.

"You're literally so dumb." Laughs came from the bathroom, and you soon appeared again, toothbrush in your mouth.

"Thanks."

"So are you mad?" You lazily closed both eyes as you brushed your teeth. "I was mad when I came to the house," Deo countered.

"What about now?"

"I think my mood has improved."

"I wonder if I should even ask why-"

"After seeing you, of course!"

"You dork." Opening both of your eyes, you watched him flamboyantly wink. "I'm your dork." Deo's mahogany eyes beamed.

You sighed and disappeared back into the bathroom.

"If you hurry and change without going back to bed, I'll make breakfast." Deo offered. You splashed your face with water, "you can't rush beauty, Deo."

"That's my girl."

You buried your face into a soft towel, patting the water away, before changing into your clothes.

"Done?" You could hear Deo yelling from down the stairs.

"Just about." Taking the steps two at a time, you jumped onto the cold, hard floor, almost running into a marble pillar that stood just before the kitchen.

"Please, please be more careful, I feel like you're going to give me a heart attack one day." Deo begged, lecturing you as he turned around.

Popping and sizzling sounds filled the room.

"Oops," you smiled. "Agh, you're wonderful. What's breakfast?" Sliding over, you took a cup from the cupboard and filled it with smooth, pearly liquid.

"It's a 'milk day', huh?" Deo asked, watching you from his side with a grin. "Eggs and whatever you want."

You smiled, weakly. "You're that concerned about my injury? Hey, I'll try not to avoid the topic."

Deo's brown eyes looked alarmed, "is something wrong? Did I do something wrong?"

"No! No, that's not it. I-" You lifted your shirt just above your stomach, watching his expression turn pale. "I think you should know."

"Oh my god."

"It'll leave a mark."

Wordlessly, Deo turned off the fire and slowly walked over, his eyes wide and his face white. "This is nothing like what I imagined."

You managed a smile and dropped the hem of your shirt. "So...breakfast?"

"If you're in the mood to eat..."

"Deo."

"What?"

"I'm always in the mood to eat!" You cheered, pumping a fist in the air.

"Careful, careful!" Deo screeched, lowering your arm. "Seriously, now..."

You grinned, chattering happily as you took your seat at the counter, sipping your milk.

Now and then, you checked his expression, relieved to see he was just as happy as you were; just a bit more tensed.

"Be more careful, alright..." Deo set down the plate of eggs as he took a seat next to you. "Stop getting injured so much, darn it."

"It's not like I do it on purpose." You laughed, biting into the egg. "Whoa, it's good. Deo, this is really good!" You excitedly grabbed his hand.

"I'm glad you like it so much," he burst into laughter, placing a small kiss on your cheek. "Eat well, (Y/N)."
