Nicole's P.O.V

I was drinking from the lake when I heard a low growl behind me. I slowly turned, not wanting to appear as a threat. That's when I saw him. A calico wolf, bigger than others, I knew it was a werewolf and alpha at that. Brian.

I laid on the ground, not wanting to appear as a threat because he didn't know who I was and I wasn't up for a fight.

He motioned me to follow him, which I did. We went through the woods and came upon the pack house. He growled at me and I laid down. Minutes later, the most wonderful smell hit me. 'Mate!' my wolf screamed. The front door opened and Elliot, Brian's beta and my old friend walked out. 'You've got to be kidding me.'

He was jittery. I knew it was because he felt it too but, he wasn't going to say anything. Not yet.

Brian gathered the first cloths in his mouth and ran to the wood to change. He jogged back and told me to change. I gathered the cloths in my muzzle and began to head to the woods but he stopped me, "No. Right here."

I turned and look at him with a 'are you serious?' look. My brother can be so stupid at times!

"I can't have you running away." Oh that makes sense I guess.

I changed and turned quickly before they could see anything. I pulled on the cloths hurriedly. Turning, I looked Brian in the eye. His face dropped.

"Nic?!" he barley whispered.

"You can stop gawking, Brian." I stated. Annoyed by his staring.

Brian shook his head, snapping himself from his blank state, replaced with anger. "Elliot," he said to his beta, "take this rogue to the cells. I need to think this through." With that he turned and went into the pack house.

Elliot looked at me. A mix of emotions swimming on his face. "Is it really you?" he asked, more to himself than me.

"Yes, Elliot. It's really me." I assured him.

His face clouded with confusion. He snapped himself out of it and walked to me grabbing my wrists and snapping on the handcuffs he had brought with him. Sparks shot through my arms at his touch. He caught his breath. Sighing he said, "I never thought I'd meet my mate. I just can't believe she ran away from me."

Guilt shot through me like wildfire. At 15, I had been unable to change unlike every other 15 year old werewolf there is. 6 months after my birthday, I gave up. That night, I took off. I was the runt, I couldn't change. They would never want me. Another 6 months went by and I had been taken in by a different pack. On my 16 birthday I changed into my gray and black wolf. I trained with them for two years. I became a powerful warrior. I went rogue again. I knew I had to return. I just never thought they'd miss me. Or recognize me. Or that Elliot would turn out to be my mate.

Elliot lead me down to the cellar. Pushing me into one, he closed and locked it. He turned to leave but then turned back. "Why did you leave?" he asked. I looked down. He ran to the cell, gripping the bars in his hands. Now screaming, he cried, "Why?! Why did you have to give up?! You never give up! What's a matter with you?! Do you even understand how that hurt us?! Your dad? Brian? Me?" Uncontrollable tears ran down his face. I turned my back on him and cried silent tears. Getting control of himself, he let go of the bars and left.

I dropped to my knees and cried.

Brian's P.O.V

I went into me office and put my head on my desk. My sister was here. She was back. After all these years, after she ran away, when she was declared dead, shes back. Everything fell apart after she left. Elliot and I, drowned ourselves in training to get it off our minds. My dad would lock himself away for days, a few times, weeks. He hardly talks anymore. He's become a ghost of himself.

I walk down the hall and stop at my fathers door. Yaking in a deep breath, I knocked. I hear the shuffle of footsteps and the door pops open. My dads tear streaked face appears. "What is it, son?"

"Shes back. Shes here." I tell him.

His face goes blank. "Take me too her," he commands.
