*Nicole's P.O.V*

Children are the best pawns. They're easily convinced, yet often stubborn and once you have them under your belt, they run along repeating the things the hear, namely along the topic if our treasured alpha.

I lay on my bed, listening to Elliot read aloud to me from a book I don't remember the title of. I examined my bruises, amazed at the amount. Elliot sighed and set down the book. I stared up at him in curiosity.

"About earlier today, when you called me Ellie," he began.

"It was nothing. Force of habit." I said rather too quickly.

A flash of hurt gleamed in Elliot's eyes but before he could respond there was a knock at the door.

Jayce stepped through the door way. "Time for training." he said with a smirk.

*Brian's P.O.V"

Today was the first day of training with the Mountain Crest Pack, since it was pushed due to the new found light on Nicole's case.

We had been receiving threats from various rival packs since Nicole left and my father resigned, but we never took the seriously until two pack members that went on a run turned up slaughtered. That was our problem. We had strong warriors but not a strong pack.

I met with Ashton, Mountain Crests alpha two days ago. He had a new condition to our training agreement: Nicole helps the training with Noah.
I had no choice but to agree.

I was the first to enter the sparing room other then Noah and Nicole who stood the talking and reviewing the planned workout. Noah wore blue basketball shorts with a plain black shirt while Nicole donned black Nike sweats and a sports bra.

"I hope you don't plan on joining the workout." I piped up as I approached them.

Nicole crossed her arms over her bare stomach. "What do you mean?"

I shot her a blank look. "You were released from the hospital 4 hours ago. After being unconscious for 3 days, mind you."

Nicole's eyes narrowed into a almost glare and she was about to argue when Noah stepped in. "He's right, Nic. You won't be participating."

Her eyes narrowed the rest of the way. "I don't take orders from either of you."

"Oh yes you will!" Called a voice behind us. I turned to see Ashton approaching our little group. "They're right Nic. You may lead the training but you won't be participating until seen fit."

Nikki ground her teeth but nodded. If looks could kill though, someone would need to begin Ashton's funeral preparations.

By this time, most of the pack warriors had arrived and were chatting amongst themselves.

"Where is the rest of the pack?" I asked.

Noah answered me first. "Outside with Jayce and Jake to evaluate their fitness level."

Nicole smirked. "We're working on combat."
