Jail For You: Don't Talk To Me

Joshua's POV:

Weeks have gone by and Colleen and I are back at the same state. We won't talk, barley even kiss.

It's mainly me rejecting her but she's not being honest with me and that's a key component in a relationship.

"Daddy, where is mommy?" Lily asked as I tucked her into bed.

"Still working." I said kissing her head.

"What about me? Does she not care about me?" She asked getting sad. She's emotional like me.

"She's loves you princess." I said brushing her hair to the side.

"Mommy is never here now. I miss her." Lily said getting upset. I hugged her tightly. Lily and Colleen were always very close.

"She misses you and loves you very much lilpickle." I said kissing her forehead.

"Does she love you?" Lily asked curiously.

I hesitated to answer, I feel like she doesn't. She doesn't try to be open with me, she won't tell me anything.

"Goodnight Lil." I said, ignoring her question. I shut her light and leave her door cracked.

It's 11pm and Colleen still isn't home. Even if we aren't talking I still am worried about her.

I start going through all the bad things that could have happened to her as I make myself upset.

I wipe tears that fall down my face and sit and wait. I really miss having her in my life. She used to be my joy, my sunshine and now I have nothing.

I've called my mom and my sister and both have no idea.

I get snapped out of my daze when I see the door handle jiggle. I pop up and wipe away all the tears so she doesn't know I was crying. The door opens as she tip toes in. Her hair is messed up a bit speaking she has on my bandana sweatshirt, with the hood up. She looks at me and drops her purple book bag and runs and hugs me tight. Her grip tightens around me as I begin to worry. She begins to dig her head into my neck as her breathing gets heavier.

"I'm sorry for not calling." She said. "Are you going to tell me why you are crying this time?" I asked annoyed. She pulled back and took a deep breathe. "I'm just overwhelmed ok? I thought as my husband you would be here for me." She said getting annoyed too.

I stared at her in disappointment. She always try's to switch the situation around.
"Colleen don't even start with me not being a good husband. You are the wife that's keeping secrets!" I said very angry now. "If you knew why I was keeping these secrets then you would love me." She said, her voice lowering but still full of anger. I stared at her full of rage.

"Then just fucking tell me!" I shouted. She looked at me with her eyes widen. She hated it when I yelled and to be honest I hated it too.

"Joshua please quiet down." She said calmly.
"Do you know how horrible I feel with you coming home late, not telling me things. I feel like you don't need me. You don't want me." I said still angry, but my voice now quieter.

"Josh you are being ridiculous-" "Am I Colleen? Just think about it. You can't deny that you have done those things." I said. She looked at me in defeat.

"I don't have an excuse." She said looking down. "You are right I have been keeping secrets but there is a good reason." She said.

I looked at her as I went to our guest room.
"Joshua don't take it this far." She said. I walk into the guest room and shut and locked the door. "Joshua please! I'm sorry! No more secrets." She said knocking on the door.

I slide down the door and cry. She says no more secrets but I have a hard time believing her.

I wake up the next morning and see Colleen wrapped around me. I look around and realize I'm not in my room.

I remember mine and Colleens fight last night. How could she get in? I look and see the door is opened and there's a bobby pin on the floor.

"Colleen." I said, trying to wake her up. She rolled off me snuggled into the blankets more.

"Colleen Evans." I said snapping my fingers trying to get her up.

She opened her eyes and smiled. "Hey cute face." She said putting her hand on my cheek. "No Colleen stop, I never made up with you. I'm still furious with you." I said. She sat up more on the bed. I got out of the bed and went to the door. Before I walked out I turned around.

"Don't talk to me until you tell me why you're keeping secrets."
