Day 1

❝ The beginning to the end... They all thought it, but nobody really said it. ❞

Walking down the pavement Kelsey wasn't 100% sure how today will go. She was meeting Katie in about  3 hours to help take the children to the hospital for their field trip. But the bus didn't show up so she had to walk all the way there. Huffing the annoying strands of her hair out of her view, She crossed the main road, heading past this apartment building. Looking up not wanting to walk into anyone making Herself even more late, her eyes landed on this guy he was angrily staring at the back of his van with a finished apple in one hand.

His hair was kinda scruffy looking but at the same time jelled up into a spike motion, and had sort of a stubble looking beard, letting her eyes travel, he looked well build and was wearing a grey top saying "Atlanta Police Athletics" which only lead her to the conclusion that he either wanted to be a cop or was a cop. As she went to look away his dark coloured eyes looked up from the ground and met her very own hazel ones, frowning the slightest he maintained eye contact for a few more seconds and turned to walk away, as she lost view of him walking past the van.

Swearing she ran the last 10 minutes to get there, just as Katie was loading the kids on the bus. "Hey!" Kelsey shouted over the hum of the bus waving her hands from one side to another to get the womens attention. Working she turned looking over, a frown slowly forming. "You're Late" Katie spoke up as she finally approached her. "Yeah I know... The bus never showed... and I had to walk all the way...here"  She explained catching up with her breathing and claiming aboard the bus making her way to the back of the bus, she stopped by Quentin ruffling his hair and saying hello to him and Thomas. "You know you could have called me?" Katie said one she finished telling the kids the do's and don'ts of this trip. "I would have if... - yeah I've got nothing.. sorry, I guess " she spoke shrugging.

Finally arriving at the hospital, she smiled getting  up following Katie to the front of the bus. "Alright kids, Remember we are here to make sick people feel better!, Stay close together, do not wonder off on your own and always be in twos, okay?" she spoke up earning mumbles of yes. "And have fun!" Kelsey added in giving them a toothy smile earning her a few giggles and a look from Katie. Making her way next to Thomas as they got down, She looked down at him  and smiled. "Hey," he said smiling, "hello! are you okay?" she said as they carried on walking. a Nodding motion came from the little boy meaning a yes from him, Quentin stepping from behind her and grabbing Thomas to run inside with the other kids. Leaving Kelsey behind with a worried looking Katie, catching up with her and rushing her to follow them.

"Didn't I tell you guys to stay with me and close?" She questioned her voice disapproving of their actions and the kids looking down in a sorry way made her smile slightly. "hey lets stay away from the rats" Katie added taking them away from animals. Feeling bad "sorry" Kelsey smiled at the old man and spoke up " What are they needed for here?" she paused looking around "It's a hospital isn't it? "she questioned "Yeah I was-" "Kelsey!" came from far ahead of them form Katie. "Sorry!" Kelsey let out to the man and took of running once again.

The children where now done with their singing which was pretty good. Where making there way on to the bus with Kelsey being the last one to make it on the bus the doors closing behind her. A sneeze caught her attention as she looked up to meet eyes with Britney. "Here" spoke her step-dad as he handed some tissues to katie. Kelsey smiled at Britney knowing she suffered from allergies. Starting the engine, Kelsey went to take her sit when banging accused at the buses door with this guy wearing a lab coat yelling for them to stop, stopped her. "Stop.." getting on he continued "Excuse me, I am sorry but I'm going to have to ask you guys to come back in" He spoke out of breath "we are already late" Katie spoke up and Kelsey stood looking at him. " I know.. But I can't let you go... Please I will explain once everyone is back inside.." he said looking at all of them. "You heard the doctor, looks like our trip has been extended" Katie spoke up sounding hopeful for the kids.

Kelsey looked back at the lab guy staring him down. Britney went to get down when her step-dad stopped her "hang on there britney"- "you too sir" the guy that was forcing them to get down added.  Katie placed her hands on her son " Quentin you stay with me" she spoke up "Its better if you don't touch" the lab guy added once again. Kelsey made eye contact with him as he was shaking his head.

Well we are fucked.. she thought...
