Truce

"Jesus Klesey! Have you completly lost it or what?"

It had been a few minutes since Jana had dropped their big escape plan. It had taken a minute for Jake to come up with how many reasons  why this wouldn't be safe. "Its safe Jake."Jana said scanning the young girl next to him.. she seemed paler than last time they had seen each other. "I know what you're gonna say, but I miss Lex. I have to try... So please don't judge me" She continues. Making Kelsey look down towards her hands she could understand the woman completely. She would do anything to see Katie again.  "I don't" Jake said noticing the sudden shift in Kelsey he knew what she was thinking about and it pained him. It pained him that he couldn't to anything for her to ease her suffering. 

"Somethings wrong." Jana says picking up on both of them seeming off. They both stayed silent. Both for different reasons. Kelsey didn't feel like saying it out loud making all to real. Making everything resurface, and Jake.. well he felt it wasn't his thing to just spit out. " What happened." Jana tries again her voice gentle she took a step closer to Kelsey. "Katie.. Katie didn't make it." Kelsey finally says her voice sounding strong it made Jake look straight at her. It was the first time she said it without breaking down. "The last thing she asked me." She paused correcting her self. "Asked us is to get Quentin out. So I'm in" she said without skipping a beat. Without even looking over at Jake.

Before anyone can say anything Sam came out his face slightly red. "Mess won't make a deal. " he said. A look crossed his face making Kelsey frown she knew that look. Panic. "Look I -I know you say we're all in this together, but I need to get home to Nick." He says making Kelsey meet his eyes. " I have to do this, Jana even if I'm going alone." He finishes his eyes meeting Kelseys. All she think about is Quentin. She had to get him out.

 "Coward." She said making both Jake and Jana look over at her both surprised. "You cant just run at the first sign of trouble. " She said taking  a step towards him. "You don't run. I get it you want to get out of this shit hole. Well guess what buddy everyone does." We've all lost people. Shit we still might. " She continued taking a breath. "We are still here fighting." she finished her eyes never leaving his. 

"Okay..Okay.. " Jana started trying to ease the tension. "We still have a few more hours.. we will find a way." She said and turned to face the young couple. "And you need to find a way too okay?" she asked eyeing them both. 

Walking back to the hospital Kelsey was quite until. "You should go with Quetin." She says making Jake come to a complete holt. "I know.. I know.. " She said avoiding his gaze. "I need to stay here. I need to stay here and make sure these Bastards do right by everyone. I need to make sure Cannerts does his job" She pauses. "So you need to go." she said finally looking up at him. Jake went slightly pale then red. "Jesus Klesey! Have you complexly lost it or what" He started raising his hand to the bridge of his nose. 

"How-" he went to say and cut himself off. "No." he finally said. "I am not leaving you here." He said his eyes meeting hers. " Thats not an option." he continued and closed the space between them leaving a small space between them at the same time. Placing his gloved hand on her cheek. "Understood?" He asked making her nod her hazel eyes scanning his. Both of their thoughts the same. I wish I could kiss her. I wish I could kiss him.

Once they made their way back the hospital the first thing was to find Quentin to ran the plan by him. It had to be his choice. Kelsey hoped he would make the right one for her sake. " I dont know" the young boy said making Kelsey look over at him " Its your call Q" she said smiling slightly. " I- We promised your mom we'd get you out. "She said pausing " And I think this is the way.. We have to go tonight." She adds. "But this is the last place I saw her" Quentin says making Klesey kneel infront of him. "It might be but we still have all the good memories. She will always be with you love.. right here " she said placing her finger where his heart is. "I know that its hard. Trust me. But we can do this." She said 

"And you know the question you asked Kelsey earlier. " Jake said helping Kelsey out.  "About where she is now?... Well look I won't lie to you, I don't know how it works, exactly but I know your mom loved you very very much. I know that people that love us, uh they stay with us. " Jake says making Kelsey eyes water. "Even far away?" the boy asks his voice low. "Even far away." Jake adds smiling at the boy. "And you will always always have me and Jake" Kelsey adds smiling too. "what if I don't want to go?" He asks his eyes meeting Kelsey's. "Then we stay. Its up too you. Wherever you go we go" She says still smiling. "So what do you say?" Jake asks. After a few seconds of silence Quentin speaks up. "We should go" he says looking at both of them. 

Once they finished up with Quentin Kelsey wanted to go and talk to the Dr clear somethings out before they all left. Jake insets on joining her since he still wasn't sure how she would react. "Dr.Cannerts? " Jake says catching his attention. "Hey." Jake continues being friendly. "We need to talk." Kelsey says getting straight to the point. "Jake, Kelsey. I've been working since dawn and I realize it's a small comfort, but you should know that what we learned from " He pauses looking at Kelsey. 

"from Katie may eventually lead to a vaccine. " the dr says making Jake tense. "Eventually.Yeah." Jake starts and Kelsey looks over at Jake she could see him tense. - "'Cause the thing is" Jake went to say but was cut off by a gun cocking. "Well, - if it isn't Dr.Death himself" Trey says his gun low. " Excuse me.. Gentlemen." the Dr trys but gets cut off by Jake who had pushed Klesey behind him and started walking towards them. 

"Hey, what's going on, Trey?" He asks. "Oh, same old, same old...After blaming the brown kid from Syria, turns out he had nothing to do with this mess...News from the outside says Dr.Cannerts created the virus...The way I see it, somebody's got to put a bullet in the man's head." Trey says getting to ready to raise his gun. "You raise that thing and I will throw your ass in the isolation ward without a mask." Jake says his voice low. "So, whoever it is you're grieving died from natural causes?" Trey said now looking directly at Kelsey making her start walking towards them fists clenched. 

"Look, I'm not crazy about him either, but Cannerts didn't create the virus." Jake said raising his hand to stop Kelsey from coming closer. Now isn't the time he thought. "He's trying to save everyone in the Cordon...And like it or not, he's the only one who can." Jake continues defending the man who was one of the reasons Katie was dead. Kelsey knew why. She understood why but that didn't stop her blood from boiling. 

"Yeah, well, the word is out...If I don't do it, somebody else will." Trey says clicking his gun raising it. Making Jake tense once again. "Yeah, yeah, but if you help me protect him, you and your guys can be first in line for a vaccine." Jake says his voice straining ever so slightly. "There's a vaccine? " Trey asks. "He just told me he's getting close." Jake said making Kelsey's eyes fall on him. Smooth  "Fine... " Trey says lowering the gun 

"We'll protect him."
