2 days have passed and I was still planted in the RV. I wouldn't leave nor would I eat. Andrea brought in water for me. When she came in I sympathized for her. I may have lost my best friend, but she lost family, however, Ashley still felt like family to me. Whenever things went wrong in my house she'd pick me up and take me out, or we'd go to her house. Andrea had sat down and held my hand. Told me everything would be alright. I looked at her and told her I was so sorry. She just repeated the same to me.
Hours passed of laying down, endlessly thinking about this shitty world. Shane had walked in. I was sitting up at this point and Shane settled in next to me. He reached his hand over to mine and looked me straight in the eyes. He hesitated before speaking, trying to find the words that fit. "It'll be okay, Ciara. I promise." Silence crept over before I answered. "I promised Ashley I'd keep her safe. Looks like I broke that one. How can I be so sure you'll keep that promise?" "Well... I'm not sure. But I can promise you I'll be here for you." "Thank you." He gave my hand a squeeze with a whole-hearted smile and left. I got up and got dressed into a sweatshirt and a ripped pair of jeans. I carried the bloody clothes and walked them out to Carol. I went to where Carl and Sophia sat to see Jonathan coloring in a book. I sat next to him and put my arm around him. He looked up at me and wrapped his arms around me and put his face in my chest. He pulled away and said, "love you Sara." Jonathan could never say my name right. He had a lisp and could never say Ciara right, so Sara kinda stuck. "Love you too buddy."
I trudged to the picnic table, feeling all eyes on me. Lori plopped down next to me and wrapped her arm around me. "It'll be okay. We've all lost people, and in this world, you have to expect it." "Who have you lost Lori? You have Carl and Rick. You haven't lost anyone." I stormed off back into the RV and grabbed the book Stolen to try and progress further.
