Chapter 6

It was the day of the ball,it started at 6 o'clock and everyone couldn't wait.
Emma,Scorpius and Albus were sitting in the Gryffindor common room with Rose and James
"So James,who are you taking to the ball?"asked Emma and he blushed
"Alice"he said with a slight proudness in his voice...

It was getting to six and Albus and Scorpius headed down to the great hall,it was decorated with balloons and ribbons everywhere.At around half six everyone started arriving,Rose came over to them in a dark blue dress"where's Emma?"asked Albus
"She's coming in two minutes"she replied,smiling like she knew something he didn't

A few moments later,Albus saw someone out of the corner of his eye coming down the stairs,it was Emma
"Wow"said Scorpius
"Yeah..wow"replied Albus,sounding mesmerised
She looked absolutely beautiful,she was wearing a ankle length white,floaty dress and her hair was in light curls
"Hi guys"she said,blushing and tucking a brown curl behind her ear"where's Rose?" And they pointed to the drinks
She walked off towards Rose

"She looks beautiful!"said Albus
"Well then what are you waiting for?"smiled Scorpius"ask her to dance!"
Albus shook his head"she doesn't like me in that way"he answered,smiling sadly
"Trust me,she does,now go dance with her"he said and dragged him over to the drinks table

"Wanna dance roseie?"asked Scorpius and they disappeared into the sea of people
Emma smiled at Albus"Someone looks handsome"she laughed
"Em so do you"he said awkwardly"I mean beautiful!"
She laughed and sat down with him,talking to him
A few minutes later,a slow song came on and Albus built up his courage
"Do you wanna dance?"he said and when she nodded he sighed in relief
They went onto the dance floor and swayed to the song,he looked into her hazel eyes,the light making them dance
And she looked into his dark green ones,pulling her into a trance

They danced a few more songs and then sat down beside scorp and Rose
"I'm gonna get some food"she said and walked away
"See,I knew she liked you!"said Rose and Albus blushed,smiling slightly
"Maybe she does.."
Emma didn't return for a while so Albus went over to see what was taking her so long.She was trapped against a wall by a Gryffindor in their year
"Hey pretty lady,wanna dance?" He said and she shook her head"come on!"
"No thanks"she replied and tried to escape but he wouldn't let her,he leaned in and she turned her head
Rage flashed in Albus's eyes and he tapped the boy on the shoulder and punched him in the jaw
"Are you ok?"he asked Emma and she nodded,swallowing a lump in her throat and ran back to her seat with him
"What took you so long?"asked Scorpius
"Nothing"she smiled and looked at Albus..
