"Oli, Y/N! Get down! You're gonna hurt yourselves!" Matt yells from beneath Oli and I as we scale an old building we stumbled upon. Being as competitive as we are, we're racing each other to the top.

"Matt, c'mon ya dick! Get up here!" Oli shouts back down and I laugh at his attempts to persuade Matt as we near the top. Matt simply shakes his head at us and stuffs his hands in his pockets.

"Y'know what, fuck this! If you two get arrested or die don't come bloody crying to me!" Matt yells one final time before stalking off into the night. I roll my eyes at him and look across the rugged brick wall to see I'm beating Oli. I'm so close to the top.

"Better hurry up, Oli!" I call mockingly as I reach the final ledge.

"Oh shut up." He retorts as I pull myself up onto the roof and he reaches the same ledge. I take a seat on what seems like a stable part of the roof and Oli makes his way over to me. We stare out at the sky, sat in the comfortable silence that comes with being close friends. I've had feelings for him, but they come and go. It doesn't take much for me to develop them again. I look over at him and he's lost in thought, his eyes gazing into the black nothingness of the sky. Unable to catch his attention, I turn back to admire the sky.

"I'm glad Matt didn't follow us up here." Oli says, breaking the silence.

"Yeah, I didn't think this roof could've held all the weight." I joke which elicits a chuckle from him.

"No, not for that reason," Oli quickly returns to his serious and solemn state. "I've been meaning to tell you something for a while now." He finally turns to face me and I analyse his face trying to read his thoughts and emotions.

"What is it?" I can feel the nerves ramming against the walls of my stomach. Why does he have this effect on me?

"I...I think I have feelings for you. I've felt this way for a while and it's like an itch I need to scratch." He's dropped a bombshell.

"Oh."

"'Oh.' Thats all you can say?" He says in disbelief and he starts to stand up. It's hard for him to open up and trust people like he always has with me. I don't want to mess this up.

"Oli, wait," I grab his wrist and pull him back down. "I'm surprised. I feel the same, I really do! I just never thought you'd feel the same as me." He calms considerably and a small smile tugs at his lips. I lean against his shoulder and he wraps an arm around me before gently kissing my forehead. I stare up at him and tentatively press his lips to mine and I've never felt so happy to be in his embrace. After a moment he leans back and stares back out at the sky.

"Well, this is great and all but how do we fucking get back down?!"
