Chapter 16
“What?” That can’t be true!
“We will leave you two alone, so he can explain” and with that said they all left, leaving Jace and I alone with the pups.
He looked sadly at our pups. “Five of them, huh”
“Yeah, 2 girls and 3 boys, Jared came first, then Nayla, Ashton, Dimitri and last Naomi” I replied, nodding at each of them.
“Care to explain why you might not make it tomorrow?” I asked quietly.
“Please, just let me just cuddle with you, I won’t do anything” He pleaded. “Please, and I’ll tell you everything” I hesitated but nodded, he quickly came and lay down, snuggling his body closer to mine.
“I’m sorry I left you, I just had so much things on my mind and every time I get closer to my destination I got sidetracked, thinking of what I was going to do,” He hesitated before continuing “I shall start explaining why I might not make it tomorrow”
He sighed “Well the thing is I’m a pureblood, meaning I came from one of the closest family to Flenrir, so that made me more powerful than most. Our power was so great that half of the purebloods couldn’t control it and they gave in to their wolf, they live in wolf form until their wolf couldn’t control the power neither, then they died.”
“My dad, one year after I was born, he couldn’t take it neither and he died. My older sister couldn’t neither. Yet, my mom kept fighting it until I was old enough to survive by myself, she told me that she loved me and will always be with me even if I couldn’t see her and she too told me to not let the power control me.”
“I didn’t want to keep living, I mean, I was one of the last members of the pureblood line. I never felt the power every pureblood did, but that was until I hit puberty.” He snarled softly to himself “You weren’t there Bri, if you were there you will of have been disgusted by me. The urge of killing I had was so powerful, so hard to control. I can’t lie to you and say I controlled the power and didn’t kill, I did. I killed a whole village, alone, without help. And even with that I still wanted more and more, I hate that sickening feeling, but day by day I kept controlling the power better, I still had the urge but I ignored it. Yet I still felt regret for all I did. I must admit, sometimes the power slipped, but I controlled it again.”
“I then started to understand why they all gave up… If- IF you control the power, you will still have the urge, can you imagine having every second you have an urge to kill? Everyday fighting it? It wasn’t a good feeling again, then I understood… Fighting it or letting it be free wasn’t changing anything. You fight it, you lose it, You let it be free, you lose. So I decided to give up, to give up to my wolf”
“Just as I was going to, Mike appeared and offered me an offer I couldn’t resist. He told me he knew how to remove that power, but that I had to work for him and to break it I had to kill him. I was so desperate to feel normal that without thinking I agreed” He sighed, laying his head on top of mine.
“When he removed the power from me, It felt so good, I’ve felt so relief. Mike was a good guy, until he started ordering me to do horrible things I will not mention. To cut it short, I got tired of what he did and run away, and that’s when I came upon Dylan and his pack, and I stayed with him for years, until this year that I started to feel lonely so I decided to give up to the power for no reason, when I was telling Dylan I was leaving, I saved your sister and then you came into my life… yet for no reason I kept wanting to come here to get the power back.” He then whispered “I’m sorry.”
“So let me get this straight, if we win this fight, you are going to have your power back and you will give in?” I whimper.
“Yes..”
