-Diya's POV-
"Hmmm, it's smelling nice. What are you preparing?"
I asked my mom as I enter the kitchen.
"You guess it." mom said putting the lid and crouching down upto my level.
"I don't know. But it must be tasty because it's smelling nice."
"It's my little angel's favourite."
"Kheer?" I asked thinking.
"Yes" she said ruffling my hair.
"Mom, don't spoil my hair. I am a big girl now."
"Awww, my little princess is turning five today." she said tickling me.
"Hahahaha....."I shook my head and rubbed the tears off my face, but it was failing as more tears came out as I remembered my fifth birthday with my mom, and it was also my last birthday with her. She was alive at that time. How we had enjoyed that day.
"Diya. Are you awake?" Dad said peeking his head through the door. "I saw the light of your room was on."
"Yeah. Can't sleep." I said rubbing my tears and smiling.
"Are you crying? What happened? Something happened at the party?" dad asked worryingly.
"Nothing, just remebering my last birthday with mom."
"Yeah, I remember that time. You were five at that time. How time flies."
"Dad, have you been drinking again?" I asked as I smell alcohol in his breath.
"Just wanted to clear things out of my mind."
"But, dad what have I said about drinking?"
"You are just like your mother."
"What?"
"Always telling me what to do and what not to do. But you know, she was an amazing lady."
"Yeah, I miss her too."
"Come here" dad said hugging me.-Angad's POV-
"Mama, what is it?" I asked mama.
What is it that he is telling about? What can be the secret?
"Come here." he said standing up.
I followed him.
"Why are we outside the store room?" I asked while mama unlocking the door.
"You will see." he said switching on the light.
"Here. You know it's you mother's trunk. Open this trunk."
What could be in the trunk?
I opened the trunk as he said.
He picked up a diary."Here" he said giving the diary. "Keep this diary to yourself. Read it. And whatever you decisions you take, just think that your mother has always loved you.
She must have a reason to do this. Don't do anything that you will regret later. Understand."
I nodded.
"You should go to sleep now. It's very late. But remember, whatever decisions you take I am always with you."I kept the diary in the table. Tomorrow, I will read this Diary of Secrets. I turned off my bedside lamp. Maybe sleep would consume me.
"Dude, are you okay?" Arjun asked while we sat at the cafeteria waiting for the boys.
"Because I think you are not. You seem to be little bit off today. What happened?"
"Mama gave me this diary which he said is related to my past and something regarding decision making. Today I am going to read the diary to find out my answers."
"What are you talking about? What answers are you going to find out Angad?" Mohit said taking his seat, Rohan and Gautam following him.
"About the questions Sid had asked him yesterday." Arjun said.
You see Mohit, Gautam and Rohan may be my close friends but they also didn't know my secrets, only Arjun does.
"That kid, seems to ask a lot of questions. "Rohan said adjusting his glasses.
"Let's order now. I'm starving." Mohit said putting his hand on his stomach.
"Okay, I'm going for the orders. What will you guys have?"After taking the orders, I went to the counter to place our orders. As I was on way someone bumped into me. I feel something warm liquid on my shirt. I looked down to my shirt and to the person who ruined my shirt. I saw a pair of brown eyes. The same brown eyes I saw at the party. But, now I could see fury in them.
"You always find a way to bump into me Mr.Angad. Don't you."
"Excuse me." I was taken aback by her statement.
"You should see where you are going. God has given you two eyes. If you have used them, then maybe you wouldn't have ruined my dress with the coffee." She said holding her cup.
"Oh, it's my fault now. Care to explain it miss Chopra." I said folding my arms.
"That's the problem with you middle class people. Never accept their fault."
"Oh, you spoiled rich kid."
"You! What did you just say?" she said keeping the coffee on the nearby table.
I saw all the eyes on the cafe were on us, arguing in the middle of the cafe.
I pointed my fingers toward her "I said you..."my sentence was cut in the middle as someone hold back my hand.
"Stop it. What are you two doing in the middle of the room?" Arjun asked.
"You are lucky that my friends came to your rescue. Otherwise, what I could have done only God knows." I said keeping my hands inside the pants pocket.
"Maybe you should consider yourself lucky Mr.Malhotra. You are my friend's cousin that's why I'm going easy on you. Otherwise, you could have seen my wrath."
"Oooh, I'm so scared." I said micking her.
"Huh." she flipped her hair and turned back.
Geez, what's with this girl today? Is she slept on the wrong side today."What were two bickering about?" Gautam asked taking his seat.
"Spoiled rich kids. They think they can buy the world with their dad's money."
"What happened?"
"Spoiled my shirt with her coffee and didn' have the deceny to say sorry. Kept on saying it's my fault."
"But she seemed to very nice last night at the party." Mohit said sipping his coffee.
"You don't know these rich kids. They can be good at one time and other time they can be the worst." Mohit said.
"Guys, we should be going to the class. Otherwise we will be late." Rohan said looking at his wrist watch.
We said our good byes and went for our classes. After the dinner I went to my room to complete my assignments.
After completing it, I cracked my knuckles and get up to stretch my body. Then I noticed it, the Diary of Secrets.
I picked up the diary and switched on my bedside lamp.New update.
