Chapter Eleven - Power

Maya's POV

Once I moved the body, Maya sat in the house, staring into space. "How can I snap her out of this? She cannot do this every time she kills someone" I murmured, Lunans eyes dark. "I know! We need to train her and fast. The council surely know where we are by now. Let's get moving" I pulled the group aside, I didn't trust Zoe but we needed all the help we could get. "We are moving. Grab your stuff. I want to be gone within the hour" I stalked back to the house, I could feel Mayas anger. "Nick?" She called to me, my body hummed to life. "Yes I'm here" I murmured back, going towards her. "I'm sorry about before" Her blonde hair tumbled over her shoulders, eyes bright green. "You need to get over killing people. If it was reversed she would have killed you all the same" I said my tone now stern. "I know, I knew it was right but when her power it me, it filled my veins burning everything" Her eyes light up with a strange orange light. 

"You have a elemental power now don't you?" Her hands were cool in mine, I felt like I was going to explode. "Yes, I have knowledge about the council I think everyone would want to hear" Her eyes were back to normal, Luna got up slowly, stretching her muscles. "One more thing" I pulled her against me, crushing her lips against mine. She smiled, responding with more enthusiasm. "Hmmm" She said against my lips, breathing in my scent. "No bloodlust" She laughed, kissed me again softly and summoned everyone to the main room. "After I killed her, I absorbed her powers, she had a lot of knowledge on the council, which we can use to our advantage. Nick, we need Joe. I'm sorry but it's true. We all need to split up and find people we trust. There is a tracking spell on one of us, the lady didn't know who. I'm guessing the council never told her who had the power incase they wanted it for themselves" Maya stopped, her eyes bright orange now. 

"I need to put a protective barrier of us all" With her eyes now dark orange, my spine tingled painfully. "Don't fight it" She said through gritted teeth, the spell must be powerful. When I thought it couldn't get any worse, Maya burst into flames. "Shit!" I cried, rooted to the spot. Lunan summoned water and blasted her with it. "Zara, knock her out" "She's too powerful!" Zara cried back, her energy nearly gone. Finally the flames receded, Maya dropped to her knees. "What was that?" I roared, more scared for her than me. "I just bound us together and gave you all powers" Her eyes danced different colours before she passed out. "Shit shit shit shit!" I cursed, I pulled her into my arms. "What did she mean we have powers?" Luke asked, his eyes filled with worry. "Summon Fire. See what happens" Zara spoke, all of us now watching Luke. He closed his eyes, murmured in Latin and fire sprung from his fingertip. "We are literally the most powerful group of people in the world" Lunan spat, storming angrily out of the room. "Luke, please?" I asked, Mere watching quietly. "Mere can you sense her heartbeat?" 

"Only sometimes, then other times there is nothing, I think it is to do with her blood types. She needs to learn control" Mere disappeared, her eyes glinted red briefly. Zoe was standing there with a thoughtful look on her face. She clicked her fingers, flames exploding around her hand. "I didn't sign on for a bounding ceremony but I'll stay. She needs an experienced Vampire watching her, Mere is weak" Zoe walked out, still clicking her fingers. I stared down at Maya, not ready to lose her just yet. "Send me a vision please" I whispered out loud, begging the universe to send me a helpful one. As you wish a voice replied, stunned I laid Maya down before being shocked into my own one.

"Maya come on! You need to learn to fight" Nick shouted, I watched myself punch her in the face. She never flinched, just got up faster and lunged for me. Luna was watching her every move intently. Lunan and Zara were working together in harmony, their spells in sync. "Come on baby!" Joe shouted at Maya, which pissed her off even more. Zoe and Mere were blurring around the woods, improving their speeds. Maya eyes flashed before she flicked her wrist, Joe was wrapped in water and fire tornado. "Maya!" A scream then followed. I watched as the group ran towards the scream, Luna and Luke's wolf Mason following soundlessly. "Come with us or we kill her!" Josephine smiled, drawing the knife to the little girl's throat. "Michael said you would help me! You killed daddy!" She screamed, everyone fell the floor but our group. "I guess your shield works then" I watched myself say before kissing her quickly. "What's your name?" Maya asked, dropping to her knees. "Lucy, daddy saved me from the bad people in the water. Daddy said Michael would help me but he died" Lucy started to sob, which caused the people on the ground to twitch. "Don't worry, I will help you. See I have powers like you" Maya smiled, letting Luna free, she ran around the little girl. I was still watching from afar, wondering how far into the future it was. "You aren't going to kill me?" Lucy smiled, her eyes bright blue now. "Of course not. Come meet everyone" Maya said, still smiling. Luna crouched down, letting Lucy climb on her back. Just as they turned their backs, I watched Josephine rise slowly, a spell on her lips. I threw my spirit form at her, the spell bounced through me, shattering the earth below everyone. "Luna get Lucy out of here" Maya cried before she was swallowed up by the earth, I watched myself drop to the ground, my face horrified. I could feel the pain in my spirit form and I dropped to the ground as well, tears flowing freely.

"Nick!" Maya screamed, watching me gasp awake. "Yeah?" I said, my voice raspy. "What did you see?" She asked, her eyes green pools. "Your death" I replied, my voice barely recognizable. "Josephine?" She guessed, watching my face. I just looked at her. "I had the same thing, but you were the one they wanted, and you fell through the ground. I could feel your pain, but I didn't understand why" We sat quietly, both enjoying the silence. "Why did you bound us together? And sacrifice your powers to us?" I mused out loud, not daring to look. My emotions were a mess, one minute I wanted to kiss her, the next lock her up in a room and never let her go. "I didn't mean to, I was placing the shield around us all when a woman's voice filled my mind, she told me to give the fire power to the one who needed it most, then I was on fire and the bond between us was threads connecting us. I didn't realise you all would get the elemental power" Luna was curled up in between us both, at ease. "Don't worry about it, I think Lunan is hurt and needs his twin" I nudged her shoulder, smiling a little. "Yeah might be wise. Hey Nick" She had gotten up and turned back, "I love you" Her smile radiated through me, I couldn't help feel anything else but love for her. "I love you" I said back, our blood humming. "Lunan!" Maya shouted, leaving me alone with my thoughts.
