Eponine walked the halls of her school. This was to be her last year here and she was excited. She never liked Victor High. The only people that actually liked her were the Les Amis.

They had made her past school years much easier. After the whole family fiasco, they had been her new family. Cosette had opened her eyes to theatre, Graintaire showed her some drinking skills, Courf had taken her under his wing to picking up some people. She never really used that skill to its full effect but she has it if needed. And today she needed it.

Today she was going to ask Enjolras out. Yes, she was the girl asking out the boy. But both of them were against gender rules. Why it took her four years to pluck up the courage? She doesn't know. But then again he didn't make any advances either. She slowed down as she walked down the empty hall. She began to rethink her decision to ask Enjolras out. She knew he was finishing up in his government club. Of course he is the "founder" and pretty much all of the Les Amis were in that but her and Marius. He stays late after so she was going to ask him then, but she doesn't know if she could do it now. What if he says no? Would he tell the Les Amis? He would lose all respect for her.

She arrived at the room they held their meeting when she saw Graintaire stumble out of the room. He always was the last of the group to leave leaving Enjolras to himself. He didn't notice her as he turned away to go with Courfeyrac to his car.

Eponine stood at the door trying to pluck up the courage to go in. Finally she knocked and let herself in.

"Hey." She said as she closed the door behind her.

He was stacking papers and stuffing them into his overflowing bag. His hair was disheveled and I'm his eyes. He looked at her, his piercing blue eyes alert, then realizing it was Eponine, he softened a bit.

"Hey Ep." He smiled at her. She smiled back at him.

He turned back to his bag trying to get his papers in his bag.

"Want any help?" She laughed.

"No I got it, I'll just carry the rest." He zipped his bag before sitting on the teachers desk. Eponine say cross legged on one of the students desks in the front row facing him

"What brings you here?" He asked.

"I just wanted to see what you were up to. We don't get to hang out much, just you and I."

"You're right. But I don't think you want to hang out in a classroom do you?" He cocked his head to the side and had a smirk on his face.

"I'd  rather not." Eponine laughed.

Enjolras hoped off the desk and headed towards the door.

"You coming?" He asked turning to her.

"Yeah." She said before climbing off the desk herself.

Once she meet him at the door, Enjolras took her book out of her hands and studied it.

"I never really liked science." He said looking at her chemistry book. Instead of giving it back to her he just held it with the rest of his papers.

"Enj, I don't need you to hold my book."

"Okay." Is all he said without returning the book.

Eponine didn't feel like fighting with him so she just let him carry her book.

They left the school and headed for Enjolras' car.

"Where do you want to go?" He asked unlocking his car.

"Anywhere. You know I can deal with anything."

He laughed as he threw his bag into the car and getting in.

"We can go to the new café that just opened just down the street from here." He suggested.

Not having been to the café yet, she agreed to go.

Eponine thought her plan over in her head. Her and Enjolras have known each other longer than any of the Les Amis. They grew up together.  She tried to convince herself one year that the only reason she hung out with the Amis was Marius, but alas, that didn't last long. Her love for him was shot down very quickly. It was then she finally let herself realize that she indeed liked Enjolras.

Once they arrived at the café, there were only a few cars that littered the parking lot, for they lived in a fairly small town.

The café was small, but it was very warm and inviting. Eponine read Café Mausian over the top of the counter.

"This place is very nice." Enjolras stated as they sat down at a booth with their drinks.

"Yeah. We should come here more often." Eponine tried to hint.

"Yeah we should." He said looking around the café.

"Hey, how is your government class going? I heard Courf say you have a big project coming up?"

"Yeah," He said. "We have to do a powerpoint on how the government ha changed over time."

"That is something you probably made a year ago." She said taking a sip of her drink.

"Five months actually." Eponine laughed in response.

"I have a lot of time on my hands." He said defending himself."

"Between school and..."

"Ugh. Oh!" He perked up. "I wanted to show you something! I'll be right back." He rushed out back to his car, leaving Eponine confused.

This gave her time to finalize her plan. Trying to smooth out any bumps that may come along. She thought of everything from him saying no, to an alien invasion. Overanalyzing things was one of Eponine's specialties.

Enjolras came back into the café with a leather book in his hands. Eponine recognized it instantly. She tried to get out of her seat but felt frozen to the bench. Enjolras sat down with his eyes on her, while her's were glued to her hands. He placed the book down. In front of her was her sketchbook. She never let anyone look at it. Not even Enjolras.

"I didn't mean to open it. Really." Enjolras said. Eponine just swallowed a lump in her throat. This was a scenario that she didn't think of.

Eponine didn't know what to say to the man that sat in front of her. He probably wanted an explanation, for she had drawn him many times, she probably looked like a creep.

"Ok, well, I like to draw you."

"Bullshit."

"Let me finish." She said harshly. "Enjolras, from the moment I meet you, I knew there was something different about you. Maybe it was the glint in your eyes when you talked passionately about something, or the way you bit you lip when you were concentrating. And I've been trying to capture that. Trying to make it perfect. Like... Like you." Eponine didn't dare look at him.

"If you want me to go-" Eponine didn't finish before Enjolras grabbed her book in his hands and stood up. He grabbed her hand in his other hand and dragged her out of the café. Once they were at his car, he put the book on the hood before taking a deep breath.

Before Eponine could figure out what was happening, he took her face in his hands and kissed her. She couldn't response. She was in shock. He pulled back away from her and looked at her. She stood there looking at him. She then reached up and kissed him.

Kissing him was not what Eponine had set out to do originally. It is a plus she thought.
