Now it's only two weeks till graduation, and class has been pretty laid back. Connie has invited me out to a movie with one of his other friends from school. And I've agreed to go. I don't know when, where, or what we're going to see yet, but I'm kind of excited.
"Hey, what time are we leaving?" I ask Connie as I work on my homework.
"Eight? The movie starts at eight-thirty," He says. I nod and put my papers away.
"It's stupid having homework at the end of the year. There is only two weeks left and we have to do essays still," Connies friend, Andy, says. I nod and sigh. We walk towards the exit of the school and all out.
"Ok, so meet us here at seven-thirty. We'll pick you up in my moms blue truck," Connie says and walks towards Andy's car.
"Ok, see you later," I say and walk towards my bike. I strap my backpack on me tightly and unchain my bike. I put the chain in the basket and start to ride off towards the road.I ride my bike back to the school now, and I see Connies moms truck in the school parking lot. I hear the song The Pantaloon by Twenty One Pilots playing from one of the rolled down windows. I sigh and pull up next to the truck.
"Ready man?" Andy asks, sitting his head out of the window. I nod and hold up a finger.
"Let me lock up my bike."
I hop in the truck after locking up my bike and I move my hair from my face.
"What are we seeing?" I ask.
"The Exorcist!" Connie says and smirks.
"Dude! My mom said I wasn't allowed to watch that! And that isn't even in theatres?!" I say, raising my voice.
"We're going to a drive in! Andy's dad runs it and Andy and I picked the movie for tonight's showing. You'll love it," He says.
I shake my head, "This doesn't get back to my parents, got it?"
"Yes! I thought you were going to bail on us!" Andy says and punches the ceiling. I sigh and shake my head. I then feel my phone buzz.
"Practice tomorrow at 7:30. Don't be late. :)" A text from Eren reads.
"Alright. You'll be there, right?" I ask.
"Yeah, but hey, I've got to go. My mom is making me run some errands before bed." He sends.
"Ok. Goodnight then. :))" I send and put my phone in my pocket. I fix my jean jacket and sigh again. We pull up to the drive in and Connie pulls the truck into a spot. I start to get nervous.
"Guy, I might actually head back. I don't want my parents to know about this," I say and rub the back of my neck.
"One, how are you going to even get back? Two, if you do, I will handcuff you to this truck," Connie says.
"I will walk back," I say and get out.
"Nope, I'm tying you to the truck," He says and runs and grabs my wrist. He pulls out a pair of handcuffs and I flinch.
"You know my mom is a police officer. Why wouldn't I have these," He says and smiles.
I sigh and say, "Fine." I sit on the tail of the truck that is facing all the rest of the cars that are parked out here. The screen turns on and Andy pulls out some candy and a blanket with a few chairs. I pull out my phone and look at the time, then I put it back in my pocket. I lean back as the beginning credits play and I close my eyes for a moment till Connie shakes me. I lean up and hunch over a little. I watch as the movie starts and Connie is basically moving the entire truck by hopping up and down. The movie ends and I'm shaking a little every time Connie and Andy poke at me.
"Stop it!" I yell as Connie chuckles. He puts his hands up and laughs a little, and pulls out his phone. I sigh and sit back in my seat in the truck.
"That was a pretty scary movie dude," Andy says.
"Yeah, you screamed like a girl!" Connie says.
"Armin didn't make a peep though! I'm surprised," Andy says and nods slightly.
"Don't start anything Andy," I say.
"Reagen is going to kill you in your sleep," Connie whispers in my ear. I turn and push him away. We pull up to the school and I hurry and hop out of the car before the truck comes to a full stop. I slam the door and pull my bike key out. I unchain it and Connie catches my attention.
"I'll see you tomorrow dork," He chuckles in a joking matter. The two boy drive off as I sit on the curb. I hug my knees to my chest and shake my head. I hear a motorcycle engine pull into the parking lot. I look up and see someone almost driving into the side of the school. The man dives off his bike and it falls on its side on the ground. I rush over to the man and he sits up. He pushes a hand out, making me stop. He stands up and grabs his bike and rips out the keys. He then undoes the buckle under his chin and takes off the helmet. I can't see him clearly, but I can hear his soft breaths taking place of the silence.
"You sent that last text to the wrong person," He coughs.
I start to back up, "What?" I pull my phone out and open up my texts.
"You really don't recognize my voice?" He chuckles. I look up.
"Eren?"
"Who else has a bike that you know?"
"No one, so you've got a point there."
"I came to pick you up."
"Does my mom know?"
"Yeah, I actually asked if I could pick you up because it's dangerous to be out this late."
I sigh and grab my bike, "What will I do with this?"
"I put a bike rack on the back of this," He says, "Just for this kind of stuff."
"Oh," I say. I'm still slightly shaking and my eyes are watering a little from being mad at Connie.
"But she we really be on your motorcycle?" I ask.
"I just got a few rocks in my engine," He shrugs. I just nod.
"Wait, are you ok? You did dive off it," I say.
"Yeah, a few scratches never killed anyone," He says and bends down next to his motorcycle. He then grabs a stick off the ground and starts to mess with the engine.
"The rocks just got caught in the wrong spots and got a lever stuck," He says and I hear a few small rocks fall on the ground. I grab my stuff and put it on his bike rack. I make sure everything won't fall off and he turns his bike back on.
"Ok, hop on," he says and sits on his seat.
"So what movie did you guys go watch?" He adds as he turns and puts his helmet on my head. He straps it under my chin and I look down.
"Connie ended up hand cuffing me to his moms truck to would stay and watch it. He didn't tell me before we got there. I promised I wouldn't watch it till I moved out," I say.
"Put your arms around me, the road are a little bumpy and wet," He says. I nod and do so.
"Scary movie I'm going to guess?" He asks.
"The Exorcist," I mumble.
"Dang! I watched that when I was your age and I ended up getting in trouble by my sister," He chuckles and pulls out of the parking lot.
"Plus, Connie and his friend were acting horrible. I don't know what happened with them," I say, putting my chin on his shoulder so he could hear me.
"Connors friend must have changed him then. That's all I could think for this kind of scenario," He says, turning his head a little so I could hear him. He stops at a stop sign and turns in his seat a little, looking both ways. He then takes off and I rest my forehead on his back. I feel my jacket moving around from the wind and the feeling of Eren's breathing on his back. A bunch of thoughts flow trough my head, and I feel tears come to my eyes. I burry my face in Eren's flannel shirt and squeeze him a little tighter. I feel him flinch and I loosen my grip.
"I'm sorry," I say and tears run down my face.
"We'll talk when we get back," He sighs. I nod and stay quiet.(A/N: this will be continued in the next chapter!
