'Rosie!' Piped Emilia, who hovered over me from behind, and I could feel her hot breath on my neck. 'We're going to be shopping for the whole day, remember?' Emilia reminded. 'Yes, I do' I insisted, as I looked down at the floor.

'Then what are you waiting for?' She huffed impatiently, yanking my arm so vigorously, that it ached. I sat on the passenger seat, while Emilia tugged her hair nervously. 'Scared?' I asked her. 'A bit, it's my first time driving' she admitted, with her voice squeaky. 'You could do it, Ems, just calm down' I urged her.

'You have your drivers license for a reason' I claimed. 'Yeah, I know' she said, and then started the car. She Bluetooth-ed her phone, and began playing the tunes we both enjoyed. It landed on some Halsey song, which we learned to love.

'Did you get a date yet?' Emilia asked, referring to the masquerade ball that the school hosted. 'No' I told her firmly, slightly nervous over that. 'I hear Josh Dun backed out on Debbie' she smirked, causing me to flinch. 'Don't talk about... him' I grimaced.

'Alright, whatever you say, Rosanna Keene' she chuckled smugly.

We tried dress after dress, and none really caught our eyes. And we had to be aware of our budget, since money sadly doesn't grow on trees. 'Sometimes, I wish going to Hot Topic for this type of situation was acceptable' Emilia sighed heavily.

'Yeah' I agreed, 'Say, why don't try looking for a dress again?' I offered. 'Oh, for fucks sake' she grumbled, in defeat. We paced around the shop until some dress caught my eye. It was pitch black, the hem of the skirt ended mid thigh, and it was sleeveless. The dress complimented the curves of my body, and when I came out of the dressing room, Emilia practically squirmed. 'Oh my gosh, Rosie! That looks beautiful on you!' She gushed.

I felt my cheeks flush. 'It's perfect, I'll buy this dress' I admired, twirling around as my eyes dart on the mirror hanging from the wall. 'Now it's down on me to find the perfect dress' she spoke gloomily, 'And the only thing on my mind is Hot Topic' she frowned.

'Oh! And don't forget about getting a mask!' I shouted.

'Rosie' whispered Emilia, 'Look in front of you' she said.

'What am I looking at exactly?' I asked.

'Josh and Debbie' she answered, heading over Starbucks, and began to examine the two. I had no clue why she had become so obsessed over some guy like Josh, but I had to follow her. 'Emilia, don't—'

'Fuck off, Rosie!' She cut me off harshly.

I couldn't deny, that did hurt me. I noticed a few people glancing at me, and it only made me become embarrassed. I watched as the vibrant haired girl approach Josh, and exchanged a smile to him. I grumbled, as I tapped my feet impatiently.

She left, then gestured me out with her cheeks rosy. 'Sorry I snapped at you, I was just too eager to ask Debbie and Josh about their relationship' she sighed, 'I'm so pathetic, I know' she said. 'Whatever, let's just go home, because I'm exhausted' she suggested.

I heard Emilia strum her guitar, and her honeyed voice sing from meters away. We both lived in a shared dorm, since our parents were miles away from here. I headed to Emilia's direction, and furrowed my eyebrows. 'What song are you singing?' I asked her, and she perked her head up. 'Just a song by Sleeping with Sirens' she giggled, 'Don't You Ever Forget About Me' she added.

I nodded my head, and kneeled down to her level. 'You can be a musician, you know that, right?' I told her. 'It's more of a hobby for me, rather than a profession' she said, running her fingers through the guitar strings.

'You'd earn millions just to make a few songs' I told her. 'Yeah, well, I'm not convinced' she chuckled, masking the fact that she was quite insecure about it.

'I'll watch Skins, if you care to join me' she jolted her head up, excited over my offer. 'You're the best, oh my gosh!'

I felt my phone buzz in the pocket of my jeans. I gulped loudly when I knew it was mum. 'H-hello?' I answered, hating myself for stammering. 'Were you sick today?' She asked, with her voice thick with concern. 'No' I said, feeling my jaw clench.

'Well, your principal called me today' she spat, blatantly annoyed. 'Well, I was a bit' I lied. I wasn't naturally a liar, but I did lie when it as necessary. 'Rosanna Simone Keene, it was not cheap to put you into this school—'

'I know it wasn't' I told her through my gritted teeth.

'I'll be talking to your father, and we'd be discussing if you're going to move back to Ireland for the next term' she snarled, and ended the call.

'Who was that?' Asked Emilia.

I gulped loudly, feeling my hands spasm. 'Uh, a prank call'

I shifted uncomfortably on the sofa while Emilia nuzzled on my lap, watching Skins.
