Rose's POV
"Mmmm, gummy worms," I mumbled to myself as I caught sight of the familiar packet hidden way in the back of the biscuit cupboard.
I reached up on my tip toes and snatched up the packet, smiling triumphantly to myself, proud of this magnificent achievement.
I quickly opened up the packet and stuffed two worms in my mouth, chewing happily to myself when my mother interrupted my thoughts by saying, "Did Ever not want anything?"
I turned to my mom, looking over her features that resembled mine to almost perfection; however, my mom was far prettier than I'd ever be. I shook my head at her and smiled. "She said she didn't want anything." I mumbled around the worms.
She raised an eyebrow in amusement. "I know Ever takes her diet seriously, but honestly, if you show her you've got gummy worms, she will never resist." She smirked.
I smirked back, that was so like Lyse. Though we may only share the same eye colour, Lyse and I were very alike in other things. We loved the same food, disliked the same food (which was often very rare) and we liked the same things (though I wasn't into dancing unlike Lyse, I had tried it once when I was seven or eight when dad mentioned that his other daughter was a ballerina, though I couldn't handle the pain or the strictness that came along with it and gave up immediately).
I loved Lyse dearly, she was my older sister and I looked up to her, even if she was only four months older than me, she meant the world to me, just like Chanel and Henry did, and even Jackson, even though he had absolutely no relation to me whatsoever.
The thought of my other sister brought tears to my eyes. I adored Chanel, she was sweet, beautiful, caring, teasing and everything you could ask for, she was almost exactly like Lyse, she loved to dance when she was feeling up to it, but it wasn't very often and she'd only dance if Lyse was around, she needed her older sister's guidance, her help and approval.
Just like me, Chanel looked up to Lyse. I guess we all did, Chanel, myself, Henry and Jackson. She was the eldest, and though she was failing all her subjects, she was wise and had the best advice if you ever asked for it.
Lyse worked hard to get where she was, that's all she ever does, she works and works and works, until she succeeds, and if she doesn't, she'll work even harder to get what she wants, she was the ultimate role model.
"Rose? Rose..." I heard mom say faintly, snapping me out of my wandering mind.
"Huh?" I asked, looking up at her curiously.
She smirked and rolled her eyes. "You're so much like Ever and your father." She snorted and walked away shaking her head, not even bothering to tell me what she said while I was in my daze.
I shook my head after her and rolled my eyes. I popped another worm into my mouth and chewed happily when my phone started buzzing in my pocket. Quickly snatching another packet out of the cupboard, I held them in my hands and fished out my phone, not bothering to check the caller ID as I answered.
"Hello, feisty red-head at your service." I chirped cheekily.
I heard a deep rumble of laughter on the other end and instantly knew who it was. "Fire cracker," he greeted after a while.
