Chapter 29 - I Think We Need Some Explanations

*Niall's POV*

After Harry had left the room Helen had made a point of 'needing to get back to work' before heading out the door herself, followed about a minute later by Danielle and Eleanor who 'wanted to get a drink at the café'. That left Josh, Liam and I in the ward together sitting in silence until I nudged Josh and asked him to go and get us both a sandwich from the shop because we hadn't eaten for a while. Once Josh had left the room I wanted to have a private word with Liam and I was just about to start speaking when-

“Niall, I think we need to talk.”

“Er, yeah. Yeah sure, I think so too. Listen Liam I'm-”

“Niall, I'm sorry for what I said earlier, I was completely out of line. It's just everything was so messed up in my mind with Beth and Danielle and the whole situation with Louis and then you started bombarding me with more problems as soon as I got home and I know you were only trying to look out for me Ni but I just lost it and I'm sorry.”

“I'm sorry too Liam. It wasn't fair for me to just dump all my problems on you when you have your own problems to deal with. And it wasn't my place to start lecturing you about relationships, I was just so worried about you. And I shouldn't have insulted Beth when I don't even know her and I certainly shouldn't have brought up your break-up in front of everyone. That was a low blow.”

“Well, we both said quite a few things to each other today that I'm sure we both regret, I know I do. And I know it really isn't any of my business but, what's going on with you and Josh? How come he came with you?”

“It's a long story, trust me.”

“We've got time.”

“Well, I want to know why Danielle is with you then.”

“Huh, well that is a long story. And I'm not sure if she'd like me sharing it with you.”

“Fair enough. I'll fill you in on all the details with Josh later if you want. And I also want to talk to you about Zayn if you don't mind. And I still want to hear about this Beth girl.”

“Cool. We'll have a chat later then, at Nando's, my treat.”

“Liam, you don't have to pay. But Nando's sounds great.”

“I know I don't have to pay but I want to. So, we friends again?”

“On one condition.”

“What's that?”

“I pay for desserts.”

Liam laughed quietly to himself as a huge grin spread across his face.

“Deal.”

*Eleanor's POV*

“I can't believe that Harry has done this to Louis!”

Danielle looked up from her cup of coffee and gave me a puzzled look.
