Koffing

I grabbed my red converse and small bag on my way out the door. I just pulled up my Pokemon Go app to discover that there was a Koffing in the area, and it had to be mine. Ever since the app came out I've become addicted and plan on being the first of my friends to fill up my Pokedex, which means I'm constantly outside searching for the rarer ones.

Whilst walking down the street, I hadn't looked up once. My eyes were glued to my phone screen, fearing that if I wasn't looking I'd miss out on catching a Pokemon, and I couldn't let that happen. Before long, I'm sure to everyone's surprise, a Rattata and a Pidgey showed up. Of course I still caught them, even though I had plenty of them already.

After I had walked over 5 kilometers (I only know this because my eggs hatched), I found myself in a new place, but closer than ever to catching that Koffing.

When there was only one of the footprints left under Koffing and some leaves by the house next to me, I knew I was getting somewhere.

I casually walked into this random person's front yard and started searching. Some brief moments passed when I realized that the Pokemon must be in the backyard. Because I didn't want to be creepy and have some respect for people's privacy, I decided it would be polite to knock on the door and ask if I can enter their private space before going in.

I raised my hand and knocked on the door, staring at my phone while waiting.

Suddenly, the door swung open and I was faced with a boy around my age, sporting bright red hair and gray sweatpants.

"Um, who are you?"

"Oh, you don't know me, but is it cool if I go in your backyard? There's a rare Pokemon back there."

"Sure, I don't see why not." He mumbled, opening the door wider so I could follow him.

I awkwardly shuffled in behind him, too focused on the fact that I'm going to catch Koffing to be completely aware of the awkward situation. I mean, there was a shirtless, mysterious teenage boy leading me through his house and the only thing I could think about is a Pokemon. He could be leading me to some freaky sex dungeon but a game was more important to me than my physical safety. My priorities are probably in the wrong place, but right now I could care less.

"So yeah, this is my backyard."

"Sweet, thank you." I made my way outside when I was stopped.

"Wait, what's your name?" He asked.

"Jynx," I joked.

"Oh, like the Pokemon?" He asked, a ghost of a smile on his lips.

"Of course. Now what's your name?"

"Michael."

"Oh, like the basic male name?"

"Of course." He smiled, pulling out his phone as well. "Now which Pokemon is supposedly in my backyard?"

"I can't tell you until I've caught it, I don't want to Jynx it." I smiled, looking back down at my phone, moving closer to the rustling leaves.

"But it's my house."

"But I'm the one who found it. Besides, how could you not know that there's a rare Pokemon like twenty feet away from you? I found this from like five kilometers away bud." I laughed and kept walking around, hoping that Koffing would show up.

"Oh my god! He's here!" I shouted, trying my hardest to get the right aim. Of course, when Koffing finally got in my Pokeball, he escaped. To my luck, I still had the chance to get him. Now was as good a time as any to feed him a razzberry to make him easier to catch.

"Hell yeah! I got em!" I watched with a big smile on my face as his stats showed up and saw that he had 678 CP. Boy did I get lucky.

"Wait, what did you catch?" Michael inquired, coming closer and trying to get the same luck that I did.

"A Koffing!"

"Really? It was just sitting here in my backyard?" He pouted, visibly upset that he didn't get a Koffing to register into his Pokedex.

"Better luck next time," I laughed, going over to his fence and letting myself out, making my way home after a successful hunt.

I didn't proof read this yet because I was excited to get it posted, so I'm sorry for the mistakes and I'll go back through to fix them later :)
