The next day, Ryan, Spencer, and I all drove to work together. The drive there included them fighting over what radio station to keep on and where we were going to for breakfast. I had to end it in the parking lot.

Delanco wanted us there early for some kind of meeting about our next investigation. We got to HQ at eight thirty and headed into the office. We got our stuff out of the back and headed inside. I parted ways with Ryan and sat down at my desk and started laying papers out. I was about to toss the last file folder out when I heard papers ruffling from a distance and what sounded like a rolling chair. I looked up from my cubicle and saw Ryan twirling down the hallway with his nerd friends from the computer division. All three of them had chopsticks in their mouths.

“I AM A FABULOUS WALRUS. I AM UNTOUCHABLE.” Ryan yelled. Just another regular day in the FBI I guess.

Just before the meeting, I snuck into the supply closet and grabbed an extra chair. I carried it into the round room and accepted the strange looks I got from everyone.

“What? Have you not ever seen a FBI agent carrying a rolling chair before? Geez.”

When it came time for the meeting, Reid was running towards the round room, almost late. Just as he stepped in the door, he tripped and fell on his nose.

“Oh my goose are you alright?” I asked.

“Yeah, I’m fine.” He said as he stood up and brushed off his sweater vest.

  “I got you a chair.”

“Thanks.” He said and sat down.

“Alright everybody take a seat.” Delanco announced as he entered the room. He turned on the monitor and began the rest of the speech. “So, First I’d like to call attention to our new recruit, Dr. Spencer Reid. Stand up buddy.” He said and Spencer stood up and everyone clapped.

“Anyhow, our first case this week is on a set of murders at Rio Lomas High School in New Mexico.” Delanco said as he clicked an image of Rio Lomas onto the monitor. “We believe that the murders are linked but we are still unsure.  We are flying out there at noon. After the meeting is dismissed, you are to go home to pack and then head to the airport ASAP. Got it?”

Following the meeting, we packed up and headed back home. I waited for five minutes and met up with Spencer and Ryan outside the main building.

“Ow. My mouth hurts.” Ryan said and I pinched his ear between my fingers.

“Listen, Ryan. That little stunt you pulled back there was not funny and if you do it again I’m going to take away your nerd things for a week. You hear me?”

He nodded.

We all drove back to the house and packed our stuff. I threw some clothes into a bag and went back downstairs where Ryan was pacing back and forth and frantically deciding what to take with him. I went back upstairs to find Reid. I found him closing his door with a duffel bag and a man bag hung over his shoulder.

  “Ready?” I asked.

 “Yeah. Let’s go.”
